Aertex Ben Sherman-style shirts

Aertex_shirt We mentioned the Aertex 60s-style polo shirts the other day, but didn’t mention their newly-added selection of Ben Sherman-style shirts.

Obviously these have no affiliation to Ben Sherman past or present, but they do feature 60s detailing and indeed some vintage-style fabrics to make them worth a look for anyone into a look of the period. What isn’t clear is the sizing/cut – you might have to ask a few questions about that.

The design pictured here is called Baxter, using 100% cotton Royal Stuart tartan for a short sleeved shirt with button-down collar and single chest pocket. It retails for £39.99. If that’s not to your taste, there are others to browse on the site.

Keep Calm And Carry On t-shirt

Keepcalm_tshirt Well, we featured the original poster a year ago, then we had the tea towel and screenprint, so it was only a matter of time before someone produced the Keep Calm And Carry On t-shirt.

It might sound like a quick cash in, but the t-shirts look to be of good quality and with plenty of limited edition colours to choose from, including red (in keeping with the original wartime poster), blue (pictured here) and a bright yellow in the women’s sizes.

All are fitted shirts made from 100 per cent cotton – and all retail for £20 each.

Aertex 60s-style polo shirts

Aertex_astro We did briefly mention Aertex last month in relation to its Weller-related vintage top, but the company also has a good range of 60s-style polo shirts available to buy online – including the Astro polo shirt pictured here.

It’s very much in that vintage Gabicci/Roberto Carlo vein, a cotton/polyester mix with four button collar, breast pocket and constrasting collar and cuff, available in this brown colour or a light blue. If that’s not to your taste, there are plenty of others in a similar style to choose from.

Available online, it retails for £44.99.

Adidas Rod Laver Vintage trainers

Rodlaverbasketweave Hot on the heels (pun intended) of the trainers Kim Jones did for Umbro, Adidas comes up with this black woven leather version of the classic Rod Laver shoe.

Perhaps not suitable for the tennis court but a rather suave trainer for everyday wear. And you would want to wear them every day!

You can pick them up online from the Cali website, priced at approx £65.

Diadora Borg Elite trainers

Diadora_borgelite You may recall we featured the Diadora Pallamano trainers earlier this week. Well, Oki-Ni has also reissued another Diadora vintage shoe – the Diadora Borg Elite.

As the name suggests, these were created for Bjorn Borg – the first tennis shoe ever produced with a kangaroo leather upper apparently. It’s now back in a full grain nappa leather with embroidered logo and in two colour schemes – the traditional white/gold monochrome and this new black/gold version.

You can pick them up online from the Oki-Ni website, priced at £90.

Adidas and Oki-Ni limited edition Gazelle trainers

Gazelle

The Adidas Gazelle doesn’t need an introduction, it’s been a classic since the late 60s. But these Adidas and Oki-Ni limited edition Gazelle trainers change things just a little bit.

In comes full grain leather to replace the more common suede upper. The outsole, eye stag and Three Stripes are all created from white leather with a rubberised sole which features a circular forefoot wedge insert to relieve excessive pressure. And there’s dual branding on the tongue.

Extremely limited edition, with 400 pairs available in the moon (that’s the off white) and only 200 pairs in the lime. So if you like them, get in quick. They retail for £105.
