Dusty Groove Jazz Standard t-shirt

Jazzstandard
Dusty Groove is one of our favourite record stores – and if you dig deep enough, you’ll find some interesting non-music items too, including this Dusty Groove Jazz Standard t-shirt.

The design is a classic late night jazz recording session and is an ideal alternative for the jazz fan who doesn’t want to go the whole way with the shades and beret (or if it’s a bit warm for a polo neck sweater).

Available in a range of sizes and printed on 100 per cent cotton, it’s available for a very reasonable £6.50.

Adidas Speziel 70s-style trainers

Adidas_spezial
I think we’re really down on our trainer quota for this month, so I’d better get onto that (and with all the new ranges appearing about now, it shouldn’t be hard).

Anyway, if you’re on the look out for some lightweight summer footwear, these Adidas Speziel trainers could hit the mark. Like just about every trainer on the market right now, these are straight from the archive – in this case, from 1979, when it first made an appearance as a handball shoe.

They’re back with a cream suede upper with dark brown detailing and gum sole. And they’re retailing for around £50.

Camper Camaleon – the original 1970s Camper shoe

Camper_cameleon
Although it’s easy to assume that Camper is a product of the modern age, the company actually started out in Majorca in 1975 – and the first shoe the company produced 32 years ago is now back in production.

That shoe is the Camper Camaleon, a very basic casual shoe that was inspired by the footwear commonly worn in rural Majorca. It’s a white fabric lace-up with a rubber sole and very little detailing, except for the small tag on the side.

If you’re planning a stroll round rural Spain this summer, you can pick up a pair for £55.

Spring Court G2 Retro Low Canvas trainers

Springcourt_g2
We have featured the Spring Court Lo Cut previously (the shoes Lennon wears on the Abbey Road sleeve if you recall), but we really like these Spring Court G2 Retro Low Canvas trainers, which are a variation on the theme.

The selling point here is the strong red contrast, both inside and on the piping/seam. Of course, you still get the Spring Court gum sole and vulcanised rubber outsole.

Great for summer casual wear and well priced at around £45.

House of Fraser do skinhead

Debenham_skin

Interesting promotional images of House of Fraser’s latest spring/summer 2007 range, whjch are described as "casual biker", but look suspiciously like skinhead gear.

I’m not sure if House of Fraser are capitalising on the media attention from the This Is England movie or they just think this is a look for 2007. Either way, you can buy your very own casual skinhead look off the peg on the high street if that’s your thing.

Personally, I think I’ll give it a miss. But if you fancy it, the shirts retail for between £50 and £75, with the jeans at around £110.

New Balance reissued 410 trainers

Newbalance_410

They might have had some relevance to the serious sportsman back on the 1980s, but these reissued New Balance 410 trainers are back from the company’s archives very much as a fashion shoe.

Originally designed as a lightweight running shoe, they feature a nylon upper and rubber gum sole, with a choice of colour schemes. If you didn’t feel a fondness for them "back in the day", you’re unlikely to have changed your mind since.

But if you did, you can pick up as pair again for £45.
