Ralph Lauren Harrington jacket

Ralph_harrington

So, where do you stand on Ralph Lauren? I’ve found myself becoming more attracted to the label of late, probably because of wardrobe dependables like these Ralph Lauren Harrington jackets.

The navy Newport Barracuda (to give it the correct name) has the double-button collar, button cuffs, shaped back and underarm vent, along with a leather zip tab and of course, the Ralph logo. The white Barracuda Jacket is made of a white cotton military twill, button colar, elasticated waist and cuff, shaped back and again, the RL logo.

A change from the more commonly-seen Barracuta Harrington and cheaper – these retail for £95.

Reader request: 1960 Italian trainers

This is a request for help from one of our regular readers – and hopefully you can help out, as we’re stumped. The request is below, if you can help out, please leave your comment below this post:

I met an Italian today who had the coolest sneakers on. They were serafini 1960. I think they were serafini or something similar (serafino serefini ???) and they are reproductions of 1960 shoe design. He said they were sold only in Italy? They were VERY cool but I can’t find them on the web.

They were brown with the Italian flag colors forming a stripe on the side and on the tongue of the shoe was serafino 1960 with olympic rings in the Italian colors.

Daniela.

Can you help? Please let us know below.

Onitsuka Tiger California 78 trainers

Onitsuka_california78

As well as the Nippon 60 trainers, there’s another period trainer in the Onitsuka Tiger range for spring/summer 2007 – the Onitsuka Tiger California 78.

It’s a jogging shoe, named after the birthplace of jogging – California – and the year of its original arrival (1978). One of the first mesh-type shoes on the market, it also featured another unique feature – a reflector on the heel. The new version sticks close to the original, with the addition of a metal patch on the outsole.

You can buy them for £55.
