Here at Retro to Go we always like it when people come up with great ideas for re-cycling things, and what can be more retro than using old jackets, scrap leather, and re-used jacket buttons to create new trainers.

Well that is exactly what Worn Again have done to create these Jack Tweed trainers. All the materials used are completely re-cycled to create stylish new trainers. These trainers are so cool that they even have celebrity endorsement, and are worn by the likes Cate Blanchett and Fat Boy Slim, but don’t let that put you off!

As well as the Nippon 60 trainers, there’s another period trainer in the Onitsuka Tiger range for spring/summer 2007 – the Onitsuka Tiger California 78.

It’s a jogging shoe, named after the birthplace of jogging – California – and the year of its original arrival (1978). One of the first mesh-type shoes on the market, it also featured another unique feature – a reflector on the heel. The new version sticks close to the original, with the addition of a metal patch on the outsole.
