Karhu Originals Champion trainers

Karhu_champion
We do love the Karhu sports shoe range. Previously we’ve featured the Karhu Field running shoe and the  Karhu Olympic trainers, but here’s another throwback shoe we’ve previously missed – the Karhu Originals Champion.

Dating back to 1976, it was the first-ever AirCushion trainer and a huge success on launch – selling over 1 million pairs. The new version are exactly the same as the originals, made by the same people using the same methods. Available in a range of colour schemes, you can pick up a pair of these leather and suede trainers for 111 Euros online.

Browsing through the Retro To Go archives, I realised we have covered numerous variations of the Harrington jacket, but haven’t covered the style that made its name – the Harrington G9 jacket from Baracuta.

This version is a slim-fit, a more stylish cut if you’re not carrying too many extra pounds. It’s got a teflon coated100% Cotton shell, poly-viscose lining in the Baracuta check, elasticated cuff, zip front, double button collar, button-fastening pockets and a vented back.

Some nice new colours just in at Oi Polloi, including the lotus green and navy blue pictured here – a spring essential at £119.99.

Mario Matteo doubled breasted overcoat

Matteo_coat
Another take on a classic style, the Mario Matteo doubled breasted overcoat mixes up the pea coat, the military coat and the traditional overcoat.

It’s a navy cotton moleskin coat, with a double breasted front (8 buttons), ‘scarf loops’ on either shoulder (or epaulettes for the rest of us), two large pockets on the front and a ticket pocket above one of the front pockets. The cuffs also feature ‘working’ buttons, there’s a single vent and the whole thing has a satin lining.

It did retail at Start London for £450, but you can pick one up in the sale for £320.

Suitcase Bag – made from a recycled vintage suit

Suitbag
If you’re looking for a novelty bag with a bit of a past, check out the Suitcase Bag.

It’s the work of designer Edson Raup, who uses suits picked up from charity shops in London to create hardwearing unisex bags. And just to add to your eco credentials, the adjustable carry strap is made from a car strap. The bag also features two front pockets, a zipped pocket to keep your valuables safe and a bright cerise silk lining.

Two sizes available – medium and large – retailing for £50 and £65 respectively.
