Architect’s lamp from Bluesuntree

Architects
Looking for a lamp with retro style? How about this Architect's lamp from Bluesuntree?

In terms of the lamp's head, it's a very similar shape to one of Arne Jacobsen designs for Louis Poulsen, done in the early 60s. Couple that with the adjustable aluminium body and the weighted steel base and you've got a handsome design at a reasonable price.

How much? The lamp costs £125.

True Love Letterpress Print from Roll And Tumble Press

Truelove

As our regular readers know only too well, there are few things we love more than a bit of typography, especially when it's produced using a hand-cranked vintage letterpress.

This True Love Letterpress Print from Roll And Tumble Press uses the aforementioned technique. The Sailor Jerry-inspired tattoo font is carved into wood blocks and printed onto French cream archive paper with inks mixed by hand, meaning that prints have their own individual charm. A delightful vintage-inspired piece and a real labour of 'true love'.

The True Love print is $20 and available in 5 colours. See the Roll And Tumble Press Etsy store for more details.

eBay watch: 1970s Pieff Alpha armchair by Tim Bates

Pieff

I think we've waxed lyrical about Pieff before, a British company that made interesting and indeed quality items, particularly in the 1970s. While prices for other British makes (like Merrow Associates for example) have gone up, Pieff products are still very reasonable. As this Pieff Alpha armchair demonstrates.

It's a modernist-inspired design from Tim Bates, still looking very stylish 30+ years on. It has three removable cushions, pirelli seat support and a chrome frame. A 'vinyl stretcher' is fixed to the back frame to supports the two back cushions.

It's been well looked after, with only minor wear over the years, with the leather 'fed with quality leather cream' in the recent past. Bidding stands at £21 right now.

50s Retro two-door sideboard at Dooley’s Furniture

Dooleys

50s Retro is the name  of the piece, with this oak sideboard certainly living up to the name.

By that, we mean the look is certainly 1950s midcentury, although the design is a new one. For your money you get that oak construction witty a satin lacquer finish, four low angled legs and two doors to the front.

The entire thing is 120cm wide (about 4ft) and 70cm tall, selling right now for £286.
