ViviCam 8027 retro compact camera

Vivicam

Most of the retro compact cameras on the market are high-end, high-priced objects. That's not the case with the ViviCam 8027.

But despite that budget price tag, it's not a bad little thing, both in terms of 60s-like styling (loving the leather outer) and in specification. For your money, you get an 8.1 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, anti-shake technology, red-eye removal a 2.4-inch LCD screen, SD card slot, VGA video recording and a rechargeable battery. Pretty much everything you need for some casual snapping.

And all for an expected price tag of just £70.

Pietro Chiesa Fontana modernist coffee table

Fontana

Tables don't get much more minimalist than the Pietro Chiesa Fontana coffee table.

A modernist classic dating back to 1932, the Fontana has remained timeless purely down to that simplicity – cured and ground 'float' glass in various sizes, but all with that same straightforward shape.

It's exhibited in the MOMA in New York and you can have one in your home too from around £700.

Daniel Heath High Wire Wallpaper

Danielheathhighwirecrop

Daniel Heath makes beautiful hand printed wallpaper inspired by the circus. Pieces of whimsical Victoriana, they are as fantastic as claimed in the sample of High Wire shown here. His other designs are no less fanciful: The Greatest Show on Earth illustrates the famous P.T. Barnum surrounded by the tools of his trade, whilst Fantastic Jumbo, as you may guess by the name, features some very well trained elephants and an extravaganza of show ponies and stars. The beautifully faded looking blue, green or sepia colours complete the retro look.

At £250 a roll, it's not the cheapest way of introducing a spot of old-fashioned glamour into your home, but it is possibly one of the most crowd pleasing.
