Chatsworth Eyeglasses from American Apparel UK

Chatsworth glasses

Oversized sunglasses may be firmly back in fashion, but their clear framed equivalents are still taking some time to come around. If you're looking for some seriously retro frames, look no further than these Chatsworth glasses from American Apparel.

The shop, recently launched in the UK, is famous for its indie style and has taken a cue from the 'not so chic' 70s era glasses size to great effect. They won't be for everyone, but they certainly can't fail to make an impact.

They'll set you back £27 online or in the shops.

New Substitute Pencil Dress by Bettie Page Clothing

Substitute

Arguable the best thing about many of the designs from Bettie Page Clothing is their accessibility for a wearable wardrobe. The purveyors of forties and fifties reproduction make some guaranteed stunners, but many designs are ideal homages that don't suffer from that 'playing dress up' effect.

This Substitute Pencil Dress is just one such design. Made in a playful pink plaid cotton, it's a great Winter dress that's both office and party friendly. With a cinched waist for a little bit of sexiness, the suit styling keeps it formal and appropriate.

Get it from the Bettie Page Clothing website direct for $128.

Eileen Grey modernist Menton table for ClassiCon

Menton

Stylish modernist design at its best – the Eileen Grey Menton table for ClassiCon.

Created for Grey's home near Menton in 1932, it's a versatile table that can used high (as above) as a dining table or side table, doubling up as a low coffee table with a quick bit of juggling around. So in effect, you're getting two tables for the price of one, each packing chromium-plated steel tubing and a top that also doubles up as a black or grey surface, both with beech wood edging.

The only downside is the hefty price – around £1,600.

Simboli Design 1960s Zodiac posters

Simboli

Back in 1969, Simboli Design was commissioned to create a 'graphically strong and colourful' range of posters representing the signs on the Zodiac. And 40 years later, you can buy them once more.

The posters were unearthed once again by Paul Smith and used to promote a range of clothing in the recent past – but the daughter of the original designers (Joe and Gerry Simboli) still has some original stock and is selling the last of these stylish posters online, all signed by the designers to give them extra appeal.

Take your pick from all of the Zodiac signs (except Gemini), all very limited, all original and all featuring bold colours and distinctly psychedelic-style 60s designs that scream the era. Sized at 24 x 36 inches, you can buy then online via Etsy for $175 (around £125) each.
