Vintage Egg Slicers

Vintage_egg_slicer_green_2978

Steptoes Dog Antiques has a small selection of Vintage Egg Slicers currently available to buy on their website. Vintage egg slicers do look pretty much the same as modern egg slicers, but if you really want everything in your kitchen to be retro, then here is the place to buy your egg slicer!

At the time of writing there are two egg slicers from the 1960s, in bright green or orange plastic, and an aluminium slicer dating back to 1938, all complete with their original boxes. There is also a white egg slicer from the 1970s that does look rather different from the others, but that does not have a box. Prices range from £9.54 for the 1970s one, £14.14 for the 1960s versions up to £21.04 for the 1930s slicer.

Visit the Steptoes Dog website to view them all.

Santa & Cole Cesta mid-century table lamp

Cesta

A distinctive design that dates back over 40 years – the Santa & Cole Cesta mid-century table lamp.

This 'lantern' (based on the ones used in coastal houses to guide returning sailors) was designed by Miguel Mila back in 1964, built around a cherry wood frame holding an inner 'ball of light'. And there's a handle too, which means you can easily move it around or if you like (and it's safe to do so), hang it up in a room.

A stylish lamp that's certain to be a talking point in any home, it sells for around £523.

Rubik’s Cube handbag

Rubiks_bag

We haven't featured anything Rubik's Cube-related for a while, perhaps because the whole thing is  a bit overplayed. Then we we saw this Rubik's Cube handbag and we just had to feature it.

A great piece of 80s-style nostalgia, the box bag is made of polyurethane and is around 15cm square, with a zipped top and chain handle for some eye-catching detail.

Looks to be US-only (unless you know better), selling for a ridiculously cheap $18 (around £12).
