Roxie Vizcarra Cosmobot USB drive

Cosmobot

The Star Wars drives aree everywhere right now, so it’s good to see some new ideas from Mimoco for its USB drives – and we’re loving this newly-issued Cosmobot drive.

The work of Roxie Vizcarra, it’s a mix of design and practical technology – the design bit offering a miniature take on the iconic Soviet Cosmonaut, the practical side being a USB drive with a choice of 4GB and 8GB storage.

And both sizes are available online at Colette, priced from 45 Euros.

Dovetail Shop & Studio are a ceramics making duo from Kentucky. They have created this great Bicycle Serving Dish from porcelain.

The white square dish is decorated with pictures of retro bicycles, inspired by the designers’ own vintage bikes.  It is usefful for serving snacks but nice enough to just have on display.

It costs $28 and is available to buy from the USA Urban Outfitters.

Cherner Bar Stools

Cherner_barstool1_230

Some time ago, we featured the Cherner Dining Table. Although a beautiful piece of furniture, not everyone has the space to accommodate it, whereas the Cherner Bar Stools should have a wider market.

Designed in 1958, the bar stools have the same distinctive seat back as the Cherner armchairs and is re-issued from the original drawings and molds. They come in a choice of bar or counter height.

Available in a range of finishes, prices start from £558 from Twenty Twenty One.

Jonathan Adler Caprice dining table

Caprice

No, it isn’t named after the model, the Jonathan Adler Caprice dining table is actually named after the 1967 comedy-thriller starring Doris Day and Richard Harris.

And that’s not the only vintage inspiration on display here – the table is described as ‘a contemporary interpretation of the classic Saarinen table’, keeping the same profile, but offering a walnut veneer and curved polished nickel legs, with a size that’s good for between six and eight diners.

Right now this is US-only, with a price quoted at $2,950, which works out at around £2,000 at the current exchange rate.

Crinoline Skirt by Betsey Johnson

Crinoline

Layered underskirts are an absolute must when it comes to fifties wardrobes, but sometimes the cheaper versions are definitely something you want to keep under wraps. For great looking layers you won’t mind showing off, this Betsey Johnson crinoline skirt is ideal.

Whether you wear it alone or as an underskirt, the shape and volume really make this special. The use of lots of layers of nylon, as opposed to tulle, give this a more expensive, genuine vintage look and feel.

It’s new in at Betsey Johnson and costs $190.

Lanvin Toute L’Année tote bag

Untitled

Tote bags have become a unisex essential this past year or more, and there’s a million and one ways to ethically trawl your shopping around. Designer options might be best for something other than milk and bread, especially when they’re as attractive as this one by Lanvin.

The Toute L’Année tote features a kitsch-y design in bright colours from their 2009 Summer collection. Printed on cotton with a shiny finish, it’s durable and washable too. The sturdier handle design is a blessing that’ll ensure longer life from this designer bag.

Get it from Matches Fashion for £358.
