Georg Jensen classic bicycle

Jensen_bike

Georg Jensen is best known for its eye-catching designer jewellery, but the company has taken something of a strange departure and gone into the bicycle business.

And this Georg Jensen bicycle is the first product. A classic bike made in conjunction with a classic bike maker – Sogreni of Denmark – with detailing courtesy of vintage British leather firm Brooks. For the not-inconsiderable price tag you get a single-speed, brushed steel bike hand-finished with the same level of attention as any of the company’s bling, plus a handmade silver-plated bell, premium leather seat and grips and some chrome mud guards.

If you live in a crime-free area, you can pick up this limited edition bike in the very near future in ‘selected’ Georg Jensen stores, priced at £2,800.

La Redoute Checked Pinafore Dress

La_reoute_check_dress

Pinafore dresses needn’t always look eerily cutesy, as best displayed by Mary Quant and her ilk during the 1960s. The dress has now become a classic wardrobe staple, and affordable imitations are all over the high street and the net.

This La Redoute version is a great Winter version in a classic monochrome tartan check. The drop waist, high collar and mid thigh hemline make this the perfect 1960s pinafore shape that looks chic regardless of the fashion seasons.

Get it online from La Redoute for £26.43.

Patrick Norguet 60s-style Boson lounge chair

Boson

A 60s-inspired seat with a 60s-inspired name – the Patrick Norguet Boson lounge chair.

It’s actually named after a particle theory first developed in the 1960s. The relevance? Well, none as we can see, so let’s concentrate on the stylish chair – a polyurethane shell with polished chrome base and contrasting red upholstery. The ideal lounger if you’re looking for a space age look in your home.

Available online or in your local design store, it’s priced from £1,082.

Ec_star_joceline

EC Star‘s mod inspired designs continue to impress, and while their monochrome and block colour mod gear looks great, some of their prints are arguably even better. This Joceline jacket is available in both flower and leaf print to make a statement.

The double breasted cut, and colour matched buttons, are a great touch that gives this jacket a real sixties feel. Add to that the high funnel neck collar and simplistic a-line silhouette, this jacket is kept perfectly sleek to ensure the overall effect isn’t too busy.

Karlsson’s retro wall clock range

Karlsson_wall

You can always rely on Karlsson to produce something interesting and affordable – and that certainly applies to the company’s latest retro wall clock range.

Two examples are shown here – the Retro Walnut, which gives a nod to the 1950s with its real walnut veneer face and domed glass front. Powered by a single battery, you can pick one up for £52.

The second clock has a more 60s vibe – the Futuristic Dial offering a black face with steel trim, along with four futuristic digits and quirky hands to mark the time. That one sells for £34. See the link below for more details and indeed, more clocks.

Fortuny Moda floor lamp

Fortuny

Quite possibly the oldest piece of design we’ve featured on Retro To Go, the Fortuny Moda floor lamp is now just over 100 years old.

Designed by Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo in1907, the Moda is reminiscent of large photography studio lights, guaranteed to create a talking point in any room. And plenty of light too – a whopping 500w bulb sits within that adjustable cotton ‘shade’, all standing upright on a tubular steel frame with powder finish.

Various colours and shade decorations available, with prices starting at around £2,600.
