Gianfranco Frattini 1960s 780/783 nesting tables for Cassina

Cassina_occasional

Some years back, I saw and passed over a set of Gianfranco Frattini nesting tables on a car boot sale for not a lot of cash. Judging by the price of a new set, that was a rather foolish move.

Designed back in 1966 and still in production by Cassina, the 780/783 nesting tables (different numbers for different sizes) are four circular occasional tables, all with a beechwood frame and a choice of black, white or natural lacquering, finished off with a reversible plastic laminate top.

Pull them out when you need them, slot them together if you want to store all four. Prices start at £934.

Plaid miniskirt from Karen Zambos Vintage Couture

Karen_zombos_skirt

Miniskirts in a heavy fabric other than denim can be infuriatingly hard to come by. While Karen Zambos‘ Vintage Couture line doesn’t often live up to its name, the vintage inspiration on this mini is easy to see.

Made from a great shade of mustard plaid, this high waisted mini is a great shape and cut. The heavy fabric allows for a great fit, meaning the lack of A-line can be forgiven just this once. To be honest, though, anything in that plaid might just be a winner in my book.

The skirt is available online from Shopbop for $253.

New kitsch jewellery from Dollydagger

Dollydagger

If you’re looking to spoil yourself with something kitschy and retro, but can’t quite stretch to clothes or some of the more expensive designers, Dollydagger is a great one stop shop for affordable accessories.

Their latest additions to the jewellery range focus on the edible, as usual, with apples, cherries, ice cream and even cupcakes. Sweet, fun and a little bit cheesy, from earrings to bows and keyrings, there’s a gift idea or treat for yourself to be had.

We have featured reproduction football shirts from days gone by in the past, but if you want something a little more authentic, you might want to check out Classic Football Shirts.

The site buys and sells original replica shirts (rather than reproductions) as well as original shirts from the days before replica shirts were sold. Prices obviously vary according to age, rarity and condition, but you’ll almost certainly find something of interest.

Ferruccio Laviani space age Supernova suspension lamp

Supernova

Not an authentic 60s piece, but the Supernova suspension lamp from Foscarini is every bit a space age gem.

Designed by Ferruccio Laviani, the Supernova is constructed from a series of parellel discs for both a great look and an unique flow of light. And it’s also available in a number of finishes, everything from lacquered aluminium to polished stainless steel – but the classic white looks like the one to go for.

Complete with chrome support, it sells for £725.
