If you still hark back to the days of the cassette tape, you just might love the U+ Cassetta mirror.
As you can see, it’s made of old cassettes. But this isn’t some cheap DIY job, the Cassetta uses 35 discarded tapes that have been chrome-plated and applied to the mirror as a frame. Think of it as upmarket recycling.

Quirky in its day and over 70 years on, the Zanotta Carlo Mollino mirror still catches the eye.
Named after the designer and first seen back in 1937, the mirror is a silhouette of the Venus de Milo in plate glass, finished off with a stainless steel hanger.
It’s back on the market now, sized around 81cm x 43cm and priced at £334.
Finding mid-century properties in original condition isn’t easy these days, but this Cockaigne House in Hatfield, Hertfordshire is one of the few.
This single-story house was designed in the mid-1960s by architects Peter Phippen, Peter Randall and David Parkes and has been in the same hands ever since – and with very little change in that time. Which means it requires ‘full modernisation’ and work to deal with damp and rotten timber.

Vintage Image have a small selection of interesting photographic prints dating from the 1800s up to the 1970s. They have a stock of original negatives, which are put through a drum scanner and then used to create a giclee print of exceptionally high quality.
