Nike Athletics West 80s-style tracktop

Nike_athletics

The big sports labels are still raiding those archives – and none more so than Nike. And this Nike Athletics West tracktop comes straight out of the 80s.

I can’t say I recall it myself, but I’ll take the maker’s word on it. Anyway, if you want a retro top in an 80s-style, this one offers an authentic look, a small logo on the front and a large ‘Athletics West’ logo on the back.

All of which will set you back £49.

Ovetto space age recycling bin

Ovetto

Recycling wasn’t a big priority in the early 70s, but if it was, it might have involved something like the Ovetto recyclng bin.

Loving those futuristic space age curves, combining to create an egg-shaped bin with separate compartments for your recycled items, like paper, plastic, glass etc. Drop your rubbish in the small coloured slot on the top, pull out the larger storage sections when you need to empty. It’s probably the hippest bin on the market, with the added bonus of being one of the greenest.

Take your pick from black, white or coloured, priced at £139.99.

Foto table lamp – shaped like photographers’ lighting

Fotolamp

We featured the floor version of the Foto lamp from Zero some time back when it hit retail in Sweden. Well, now it’s available in the UK – in table form anyway.

If it looks familiar, it’s because this Thomas Bernstrand and Mattias Ståhlbom design is based on the classic photographer’s studio lighting, made of aluminium and steel and with an adjustable head for aiming the light.

Take your pick from four colours, all selling for £350.

Les Cakes de Bertrand Bags and Purses

Cakesdebertrand

Les Cakes de Bertrand started out as a cake stall in a French marketplace, which soon evolved into a cake and confectionery shop. Not an unusual story so far, but then somehow the company has made the leap into accessories.

A strange business move, but one we’re glad they made judging by their delightful collection of bags and purses. The bags and purses (like the chocolate bars before them) are decorated with charming pictures taken from vintage postcards. They are made from vintage looking materials with flock, lace and damask patterns.

If you happen to be in Paris, you can visit Les Cakes de Bertrand shop, otherwise Collard Mason has a small selection of their wares available to buy online including wash bags, purses and clutches. Further information on the shop and the full accessories range can be found on Les Cakes de Bertrand website.

Boston Low Sideboard

Bostonlow

The Boston Low Sideboard is a versatile item of furniture that would fit with many décor styles depending on your choice of colour.

The white version picture here has a strong space-age look to it, whereas the orange or khaki options suggest 1970s design. It is also available in red, anthracite and lime. Each one has been given a high gloss finish which adds a bit of a contemporary spin on this otherwise retro piece.

It costs £350 from Dekko, where you can also buy matching TV unit, drawers and coffee table. Visit Dekko to view the whole range.

TokyoBay vintage robot alarm clock

Robo

Ok, it’s not the most feature-packed clock on the market, but you have to admit that this vintage robot alarm clock from TokyoBay is a cutie.

Very much an old school robot (with more than a hint of Metal Mickey), it has a perma-grin face, moving arms, matching legs and a traditional clock face inside, complete with ringing alarm.

Sized at just 3.75 inches tall and battery-powered, it sells for $49.99 (around £25).
