We’re not usually the novelty cufflink type – but we’ve been won over by these record player cufflinks.
Available to pre-order at the V&A shop, the cufflinks are seriously low-end fun – no precious metals here. But they do have a great look and an attention to detail, with the dark base and contrasting metal platter and arm all combining to produce something that has ‘Christmas gift’ written all over it if there’s a vinyl lover (and shirt wearer) in the house.

Remember Kitty Cooper? We featured the Dina shoes (above) a short time back – made of 1930s dove-blue satin and 1950s fuchsia silk, they offered the glamour of a bygone era, along with the attention to detail you only get with a pair of handmade shoes.

Raindance Film Festival is the UK home of independent film, the cooler edgier alternative to the London Film Festival. Amongst the weird and wonderful, experimental and low-budget masterpieces, this year’s festival has quite a lot to offer the retro consseisseur.
The sounds of 1950s rock n roll are remembered in the premiere of “Flick”. A pirate radio station playing the sounds of the fifties brings a teenager who died 50 years ago back from the grave to search for his lost love and take revenge against his tormentors. “Flick” stars Faye Dunaway who will be attending the screening.
The Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen needs no introduction and most would think it couldn’t be improved. However, this classic design has been given a makeover in the Floral Edition reproduction currently being sold by Mojo Interiors.
The floral print is a wild, scattered pattern in grey on the red and green chairs and in white on the black model. It adds a more homely feel to the stark original design, but whether that is a good thing is a matter of personal taste.
