Pernod Suit by Jaeger

Jaeger_suit

The sixties and tailoring go hand in hand, but it’s not just for the boys. While formal menswear continues to take inspiration from the decade of the Mod, retro women’s suits are harder to come by. This Jaeger Pernod suit takes great inspiration from the decade to make sleek formalwear with lasting style.

The pernod suit combines a simple pencil skirt with a great signature jacket style. With bell sleeves, a single button on a high boat collar and an unstructured waist, the jacket makes this retro to a T. In an eye-catching shade of silk linen, this is quality and style to keep.

It’s available from Jaeger for £400, though each piece is sold separately.

Fred Perry 60s-style silk scarf

Perry_silk

A few years ago, you could pick up a classic 60s Tootal scarf for a £1 in most charity shops. Then the scarf became fashionable again, Tootal reissued the original designs and now Fred Perry is muscling in with its own silk scarf.

Very much in the mould of the original design but with a higher quality silk finish, the scarf has a period paisley pattern on one side (along with an embroidered Fred Perry logo), while the reverse has a striped design, should you fancy a change.

If you want one round your neck this autumn, the scarf retails online for £39.

Kay + Stemmer mid-century Rose dressing table

Rose_dressing

Admittedly, we did feature a Kay + Stemmer design over the weekend, but we were so impressed with the newly-discovered Rose dressing table, we felt obliged to feature it straight away.

Typically Kay + Stemmer, it oozes mid-century style despite being a modern design. In terms of specifics, the dressing table is made of walnut, packing two deep drawers with cutaway front, a hinged top revealing a mirror and additional lined storage and a build quality and style that should take some beating.

It doesn’t come cheap at £3,950, but this timeless design should give you great service for many years to come.

Biscuit Boutique – jewellery shaped like classic biscuits

Iced_gem

Whether you’re a fan of the bourbon, the custard cream or the pink wafer, there’s a piece of jewellery to match at the Biscuit Boutique.

Take your pick from biscuit-shaped bracelets, brooches, necklaces, rings or hairclips, although I’m personally taken by the cufflinks. particularly the Iced Gem cufflinks. Available in mixed or matching colours, all look good enough to eat – but that’s something I really wouldn’t advise.

You can pick up a pair for £8. Check out the website for more on the full jewellery range.
