Regular reader will know we’re big fans of Kay + Stemmer – and with designs like this Juliet dining table, is it any surprise?

It’s mid-century design for the modern era, packing all those eye-catching curves, as well as room enough for eight hungry diners. For your money, you get four solid oak legs (supported by two hidden steel y-frames), a veneered oak top with solid oak lipping and a unique design that’s going to prove a solid investment in years to come.

The whole thing is sold flat-packed and available from SCP for £1,665.

At first glance, this is just a classic light bulb that’s been smashed and melted, but it’s actually a cool piece of design – the Ceci by Sander Mulder.

It’s not just an old bulb – in fact it’s any but – the ‘shade’ being hand-blown from heat-resistant Pyrex glass, while the actual light aspect comes from a high-powered LED light. And as it’s LED, this is one bulb you’ll probably never have to change.

A limited edition, signed and numbered by the designer, you can pick one up for $219, which is around £110.

The classic Tam Tam Stool is available in its original seating form, as a designer stool and even as a sound system for your iPod. But there’s now another design variation for this 60s classic – the Tam Tam Lamp.

Once again, this is based on the classic 1968 Henry Massonnet design, but was originally on the market in the 1970s. This modern-day reissue is faithful to that design (using the original moulds), with a choice of chrome or coloured plastic for the body and a bulbous top that produces a powerful light from a 75w bulb.

Prices vary dependent on finish, but start around £145.
