Knoll’s 1950s Betoia Bird high-back chair

Bertoia
In the market for a quirky bit of seating? The reissued Betoia Bird high-back chair from Knoll could fit the bill.

It’s part of Harry Bertoia’s artistic 1952 seating collection (we featured the armchair some time back) – all of which are sculpted from bent metal rods, then upholstered in fabrics designed to sit well with the period look. And if you really want to kick back, you can even pick up a matching ottoman too.

Obviously design classics don’t come cheap and this one is no exception. Prices start at £1,798 for the chair, with the ottoman starting at £576.

Retro Pendulum Wall Clock

Wallace_2
A nice twist on an old idea – the Retro Pendulum Wall Clock.

Even if this was just a face, the domed glass face, brushed aluminium and retro-styled hands and numbers would do enough to catch the eye. But add to the design that swinging pendulum and you really have something a little out of the ordinary.

Sized at 19cm (diameter) and available in various colours, it’s well priced at just £12.

Mibo retro-styled wallpaper range

Clacket
We covered Mibo’s tile tattoos some time back – and if you liked those, I’m guessing you’ll also like Mibo’s retro-styled wallpaper.

All have names that evoke country cottages – but all are actually named after service stations, including the Clacket Lane paper pictured here. A nice mix of brown and red, covered with birds and flowers – a modern take on a 50s-style wallcovering.

A roll is sized at 52cm (width) and 10m (length), priced at £40.

Nike Vintage Elite 1970s trainers

Nike_vintage

More sportswear from the archives, this time the Nike Vintage Elite trainers.

It’s an authentic and lightweight 1970s shoe – initially introduced for running, but that nylon and suede upper was eventually seen more on the streets than the athletics track.

Plenty of colourways available and as a nice touch, Nike is selling this in an original 70s-style presentation box. A pair will cost you £50.
