Colombo One space age telephone heading to retail

Colombo2

I don’t think we’ve ever had a response to anything quite like the Colombo One phone. Picked up by numerous high-profile sites and magazines, we’ve also had numerous emails asking us when it will be available for sale. Well, now we know…sort of.

After a quick word with the designers, we believe that the Colombo One handset will be available around the end of April/start of May. The Joe Colombo-inspired handset will be officially launched at the Milan Furniture Fair in April, with purchase online available soon after. UK retail distribution is just being finalised – details to follow – but it’s likely to be later in the year.

When we get a specific date for sale and a confirmed price, you’ll be the first to know.

Portobello Mary vintage fashion auction ends tomorrow – grab a bargain now

Deco_purse
Mary Brown (aka Portobello Mary) was a well-known figure at Portobello’s Saturday market, living and working there from 1957 until her death last year. She left behind a considerable amount of stock she had collected over the years – and some of that is available to buy online.

The Portobello Mary auction is being run by London-based Auction Atrium online and the eBay-style auction ends over today and tomorrow (March 4th and 5th). I’ve just had a look and many of the pieces have low bids or indeed no bids, so there’s still time to pick up a bargain. In fact, the art deco purse pictured here currently has a price of absolutely nothing – so just £1 could secure it.

If you want to see all the lots, follow the link below.

Tangent Quattro Mk2 – retro internet radio gets an upgrade

Tangentquattromk2

We are big fans of the original Tangent Quattro – and now it’s had an upgrade to the Tangent Quattro Mk2.

Thankfully, it still keeps those stylish retro looks, but internally, the radio has had a few tweaks. That includes the addition of FM reception alongside net radio, an ethernet port added and WPA2 Wi-fi security. If that means nothing to you, let’s just say a good thing got even better.

Existing features include tuning into 9900 net radio stations, music streaming from your computer, access to ‘listen again’ BBC shows and podcasts, connectivity for your hi-fi or iPod, backlit LCD display, top-notch sound quality and a choice of finishes, including the walnut above.

Same price as previously – around £179.99.

Retro Orange Vase

Exm5538_m1_2This vase isn’t something found at grandma’s house nor picked up in a dusty second-hand shop. It is in fact a new, albeit very-much retro style, piece from Graham and Green.

Called simply “Retro Vase”, it is made from textured orange glass on the outside with a contrasting white inlay. It costs £25, which is more than you’d pay for a charity shop find for which it could easily be mistaken, but quite cheap by Graham and Green standards.

Visit the Graham and Green website for a closer look.
