For sale: 1960s-designed house in Draycott Place, Chelsea, London

Dray1

A five-bedroomed house from the swinging 60s and near the Kings Road has gone onto the market – although you'll probably need a Lotto win to afford this property on Draycott Place, Chelsea, London.

When I hear the term 'in need of complete modernisation', my ears always prick up and that's the case with this. Originally designed by John Wright in the 1960s, it's been in the same family since 1972, offering up a four-floor property and a cellar, all with a look that can only be described as 'of its era'.

For sale: Uncle Monty’s cottage from Withnail and I

Sleddale

An icon of 80s British cinema is available at Auction in February – Uncle Monty's cottage from Withnail and I.

For the uninitiated, Withnail and I is a British cult classic, as two 'resting' actors head out of late 60s London and 'go on holiday by mistake' to Cumbria, specifically at Uncle Monty's country retreat. If you haven't seen the movie, trust me, you really should.

Why? Well from the outside, it looks like a stylish art deco home say in three quarters of an acre of land. But look up close and you’ll see an over-stylised interior  and a seriously high price, both of which will appeal to your average Premier League player – and leave the rest of us running a mile.

Porth1

Looking to sell up and head for the coast? Well, this art deco house in Porth, near Newquay, Cornwall could be the perfect retreat.

For sale: 1960s-designed house in Bois-le-Roy near Paris, France

Bois1

The pictures of this 1960s-designed house in Bois-le-Roy near Paris, France say it all really – my jaw dropped when I saw it.

The house was designed by French architect Claude Parent, winning awards aplenty, including being selected as a worldwide architectural masterpiece by the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Arts in 1983. We love that curved concrete roof, which is clad in copper, as well as that wood, glass and concrete finish for the house. Part space age, part mid-century, totally stunning.
