Kaiser idell 6631 table lamp by Christian Dell for Fritz Hansen

Idell

This is a bizarre one. Last week, we spotted an interesting Kaiser New Bauhaus lamp on eBay, an early 60s collaboration between Kaiser and  original Bauhaus metal workshop 'master' Christian Dell. Now, today, we've found a brand new reissue from the same team – the Kaiser idell 6631 table lamp by Christian Dell for Fritz Hansen.

The lamp on eBay was a 1960s project, but the 6631 lamp is an original 1930s modernist design for Kaiser, which is now reissued by Fritz Hansen. It is indeed a classic – available in black, ivory, white, red and dark green, the lamps are made in steel and brass and the lampshades are hand painted in high gloss.

It also features a world-patented swivel joint and an 'original Kaiser-idell' label. Price? A less-then-cheap £588.

Barbour 75th Anniversary International Jacket

Barbour75

Not so much a fashion item as a collector's piece – the Barbour 75th Anniversary International Jacket.

To celebrate 75 years of the International jacket, Barbour are producing 75 special limited edition jackets based on the original design, which was created for the 1936 International Six Day Trials – that's how it got the name. Worn by competitive motorcyclists through to the 1970s and of course, famously by Steve McQueen, it's a jacket with a serious heritage, so this limited version in 'box-fresh' or 'distressed' finish is certainly going to be sought after.

Look out for it from December 1st 2010 at Barbour’s Heritage stores, Liberty and independents across the UK – End Clothing has already confirmed it will have stock on that day.

eBay watch: 1930s art deco-style table lamp

Deco

According to the seller, it's from the era. If that's the case, this 1930s art deco-style table lamp is quite a bargain as it stands.

It's a black wood and chromed lamp, with its original stepped glass lampshade and an on/off switch at the base. Some minor damage – one chrome disc has minor wear for example – but if it is approaching 80 years old, that's not bad considering.

Right now, bids are at £33, which seems more than fair.

Starburst Embellished Vest from Miss Selfridge

Starburstvest

When perfecting the pre-war aesthetic in fashion, it's all about perfecting the line between luxury and subtlety, a look exemplified by the flapper trend of the twenties and thirties. This Starburst Embellished Vest from Miss Selfridge provides a modern look back at the era, with plenty of vintage inspired details.

The beading and embellishment taps into the unbridled luxury of the decadent twenties, without falling for tackiness thanks to the muted colour palette throughout. The loose fit of the top allows for a small amount of revealing flesh, while maintaining the boyish figure effect that characterised much flapper fashion.

It's available now from Miss Selfridge for £45.

For sale: 1930s five-bedroom art deco house in Ilkley, West Yorkshire

Dacre1

For some years, I presumed all the better art deco-styled houses were in the south of Great Britain. But of late, we've found some cracking properties 'up north', including this five-bedroom art deco house in Ilkley, West Yorkshire.

It's an incredibly imposing house. Built back in 1937, it nestles into woodland, overlooking the West Yorkshire countryside and its own grounds, with that 1930s exterior looking faithful to the original design. That's not the case inside.
