1970s Shell Sport holdalls back on the market

Shell1

If you want to carry a piece of the 1970s around with you, may we suggest these reissued Shell Sport holdalls?

Originally produced by the company throughout the 1970s, the bags are available in various colours (one pictured above, another over the page), made of PVC, with an inside zip pocket and a 'heavy' metal zip for closure.

The price has probably gone up from the 70s, but it's still affordable at £42.

eBay watch: 1970s Radiola portable record player

Radiola

A real bargain for no money right now, this 1970s Radiola portable record player.

It's an all-in-one player in a bold shade of red, offering up playback of 33/45 records (7 or 12-inch), all of which packs away in a nice briefcase-like design, with the speaker being the front of that 'case'. It's got 'some signs of age', but works fine and looks good for all those years.

Check out lots of images on the eBay site, with the price right now at just £1.

Border Printed Dress from Miss Selfridge

Floralselfridge

While sixties mod looks are all about sharp style, there's plenty of choices inspired by the decade for a more ethereal dresser. This Floral Printed Dress from Miss Selfridge has an immediately sixties folk feeling thanks to a retro print and vintage inspired shape.

The peter pan collar has a hint of London sixties style, while the bell sleeves, floating fabric and florals lend a feeling of the festival kids of the later decade. Darker muted colours keep this subtle and stylish, while a sheer cutout adds some modern femininity.

It's available now from Miss Selfridge for £45.

eBay watch: 1970s space age Atomium desk clock

Atomic

I'm not sure the image above does this justice, so check out the full listing of this 1970s space age Atomium desk clock to see some close-up shots. It's an impressive thing.

With a case made of black and transparent perspex and a clock mechanism built into the base, the clock's hands are a mix of three-dimensional rings and chrome-plated balls. So how do you tell the time? Simple – you look down and see the time based on that structure and base. There's also a 'seconds' hand that (as you might guess) constantly moves, creating an object that's both practical and attention-grabbing.

It still works perfectly and is powered by a single AA battery. Unsurprisingly, there's already interest in this, but the bidding is still at just £21. A real bargain.

Adidas Originals Superstar Vintage x Craft Pack trainers

Supercraft

We covered the Adidas Originals Stan Smith Vintage x Craft Pack last week, whihc has now been joined by a similarly high-end Adidas variation – the Adidas Originals Superstar Vintage x Craft Pack.

It's not a million miles away from that Stan Smith either. Obviously it's that 70s classic, the Superstar, complete with trademark shell toe, but this upmarket take adds a premium soft leather upper in a natural beige colourway, contrasting white three stripe branding on the sides and a bright 'college red' textile lining.

£84.99 is the price you'll need to pay, with limited numbers available.

Adidas Originals Stan Smith Vintage x Craft Pack trainers

Smith

Adidas' biggest-ever trainer (in terms of sales anyway) get a premium reissue with the Adidas Originals Stan Smith Vintage x Craft Pack.

In terms of shape, this is true to the 1971 original, right down to the three-stripe branding punched into the side, but updated with a premium soft leather upper, bright green textile lining, contrasting 'snakeskin looking' heel piece and a tonal Stan Smith brand badge engraved onto the tongue.

Finished off with a textured off white midsole, this limited edition shoe is available now for £74.99.
