eBay watch: 1960s Dansette Tempo portable record player

Dansette

Scan through eBay and you'll find a good number of Dansette record players for sale, some cheap, some not-so-cheap, some working, some nothing more than a pile of parts. This Dansette Tempo portable record player is probably near the top of the pile, with a few bids already placed for it.

It's a classic Dansette in both shape and colour, oozing authenticity and after being on the receiving end of a full service, working as well today as it did back in 1962. The 4 speed Garrard Autoslim autochanger will play speeds of 16, 33, 45 and 78 rpm manually or can load a selection of up to six records of either 7, 10 or 12 inch to be played automatically.

eBay watch: 1970s Radiola portable record player

Radiola

A real bargain for no money right now, this 1970s Radiola portable record player.

It's an all-in-one player in a bold shade of red, offering up playback of 33/45 records (7 or 12-inch), all of which packs away in a nice briefcase-like design, with the speaker being the front of that 'case'. It's got 'some signs of age', but works fine and looks good for all those years.

Check out lots of images on the eBay site, with the price right now at just £1.

Sound Burger returns as the Crosley Revolution CR6002 portable record player

Crosley_revolution

We featured this back in January, but now you can actually buy the Crosley Revolution CR6002 portable record player. At least, you can in the US. Don't worry, it'll be in the UK soon enough.

It's not a million miles away from the vinyl crate digger's tool of choice, the Sound Burger, a portable record player from the mid-80s. This new version updates things a little, offering 33/45 speed playback, dynamic full range stereo speakers, battery power, an FM transmitter for firing music over to your audio system wirelessly and a USB socket, so you can easily transfer vinyl to digital formats.

You can buy it directly from Crosley for $149.95 in three colour options, as well as Hammacher Schlemmer. We would expect Urban Outfitters to be the place in the UK to get one in the near future.

eBay watch: 1960s Dieter Rams-designed Braun RT 20 radio

Rams

Apologies for featuring a vintage radio for a second day in succession, but I'm sure you'll agree that this Braun RT 20 radio is something special.

Designed in 1961 by Dieter Rams, it has the looks to match any radio past or present, with LW, MW and FM reception and a rich sound from those inner valves.

Judging by the description, it's in very good condition for a radio of its age – which makes that current £51 price tag all the more appealing.

eBay watch: Braun PS 2 record turntable by Dieter Rams

Rams_deck

Only one bid as yet, making this Braun PS 2 record turntable by Dieter Rams something of a steal.

Designed by Rams back in 1963, it's a classic piece of modernist-inspired Braun (and Rams) design for vinyl playback at 16, 33 and 45 speeds. it's described as being in 'full working order' and in 'excellent overall condition'. Age has played a part, so check the full details and images before you bid.

But it is worth bidding if you like this kind of thing – right now it's only £1.

1970s Philips Playby 22GF403 briefcase record player

Phil1

We have featured vintage portable record players by Philips in the past, but we haven't seen the Philips Playby 22GF403 briefcase record player on eBay before.

Made in the 70s (as you might have guessed), this is a portable player that's able to play vinyl at33, 45 or 78, powered on either battery or mains. The speaker is built in and when it's packed away, it looks like a briefcase – albeit one in red plastic.

Described as being in 'very good condition', the current bid is just £3.20. See an image of it packed away over the page.
