According to the seller, this set is the smaller of the two modernist-inspired aluminium chess sets designed by Austin E Cox for Austin Enterprises and manufactured by the Alcoa Aluminum Company
The pieces are described as being 'in good condition' with 'some small scratches and nicks as you would expect from a set that is nearly 50 years old'. Oh yes, it dates back to 1966 – all the pieces are stamped with that date. Sold in its original wooden (wall mountable) presentation display case with blue Plexiglas sliding lid, it's currently up for £68.
