Some new takes on the classic twentieth-century travel poster as seven contemporary artists were asked to design a seaside poster to be auctioned off for charity.
Several Retro To Go favourites were among the artists asked to depict their favourite resort: Barbara Hulanicki extols the virtues of Brighton, Angie Lewin goes for Salthouse in Norfolk while Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway promote the merits of Boscombe, as pictured above. Although the style of 1930s British travel posters were an obvious starting point, each artist has tackled the brief in their own distinctive way.
The auction started this morning (Thursday) on Ebay and concludes on the 16 May at 9pm. All proceeds raised go to Marine Conservation Society.
