Warren Evans Cuba Bed
There are surprisingly few retro bed designs out there (perhaps because beds haven’t changed much over the years), but Warren Evans has the Cuba Bed which has a hint of retro style to it.
It is described as being inspired by 1950s and consists of a floating frame and a compact headrest in a choice of fabrics (the hot spice shown here adds to the fifties look). Prices vary according to size and your choice of mattress, but a double bed frame costs £395.

Hepburn Bed by Matthew Hilton
The Hepburn Bed by Matthew Hilton for De La Espada is a recent design with clear midcentury influences.
The bed is raised by solid wood legs in that splayed style so popular in midcentury design. The bed comes in sizes, English King or Super King, with a choice of either oak or walnut for the legs and a good choice of upholstery fabrics for the headboard. The English King size in Oak costs £2,890 and the Super King size costs £3,126. Add £48 to these prices for the Walnut option.

Midcentury-style Sova Bed by John Jenkins at Heal’s
It's exclusive to Heal's, so if you want to pick up the Sova Bed by John Jenkins, you'll have to get it at one of its stores or online.
It's a super-cool design, inspired by both midcentury and classic Scandinavian design, as well as being available in over 15 colour and size options. Key features include the button detailing on the headboard and the tapered oak stained beech turned legs, not to mention the minimalist frame.
Al of that is yours from £1,295.
Ercol’s 1950s anniversary Studio Couch range
To celebrate Ercol's 90th anniversary, some of the company's more interesting designs have been made over and reissued, including the Ercol Studio Couch range.
The range was designed by the company’s founder, Lucian Ercolani, and was originally launched in the late 1950s, still keeping that 'look' with the reissue. Both models have the classic bent arms and construction from elm and beech, with the option of going with or without back cushions. There's also the option of different fabrics for the upholstery too.
Two designs in one too, with the ability to use as a sofa or occasional bed. £1,685 is the starting price, varying depending on your choice of finish.

Miss Nouveau headboard by Myrica Bergqvist
Fancy turning your average high street bed into a period gem? You can with the Miss Nouveau headboard by Myrica Bergqvist.
The clue is in the title, with this particular headboard inspired by the Art Nouveau era of the late 19th / early 20th century. It doesn't actually attach to your bed – the acrylic headboard fixes to the wall, but is around a centimetre thick to give a 'three dimensional impression'.
The one downside is the price, with the Miss Nouveau headboard costing around the same as some beds at £503.81.
