For a minimalist lighting option wiht a retro flavour, look no further than this 50's Style Pendant Light from Toast.
Some time back, we featured the Watt table lamp at John Lewis, a design inspired by the classic 1960s Ingo Maurer Bulb table lamp. It was considerably cheaper than the original, but now another similar design is available for even less money – the Idea bulb shape table lamp at B&Q.
Whilst energy saving bulbs make perfect sense on paper, their functional appearance and the dim light they emit can be rather disappointing. This Vintage Diamond Light Bulb however, will do justice to any retro-styled room.
It's a 15 watt halogen screw-fit bulb in diamond cut clear glass which gives it a lovely vintage lustre and bright, warm glow. The bulb isn't cheap at £29, but that will last you 2000 hours. It also comes in a rather lovely retro-style box – a world away from functional supermarket bulbs.
You can buy it online from Cow & Co – take a closer look here.
This is interesting. We saw bulb-like desk lamp on eBay a couple of weeks back, but here's another design that mimics the original 1960s Ingo Maurer design, this 1970s bulb desk lamp.
One of the first things we ever wrote about back in 2006 was (and still is) one of our favourite designs – the Ingo Maurer Bulb table lamp. Price, as with most design classics, was the main issue. Not so this new design inspired by that 1960s gem – the Watt table lamp at John Lewis.
