eBay watch: 1970s cascading chrome light fitting

Chrome

Who needs a chandelier when you can pick up this cascading chrome light fitting on eBay for a song.

The seller doesn't give much away, simply that he/she picked it up from an antique shop 10 years back. It is apparently 'original' though and almost certainly from the 1970s, with five lights at varying lengths off the same circuit.

It 'works' and still has all five bulbs with it. For a 70s-style home, it will look stunning – and right now it's at £9.99.

Original 1960’s Scooter from nanadobbie

Show_image_in_imgtag.php

Small children whizzing across the pavement are a pretty ubiquitous sight just about anywhere in the UK these days, thanks to the current scooter revival.

This old-school original 1960's chrome scooter has oodles of charm compared to it's modern-day plastic counterparts. It's painted light brown with metallic detailing and even has a name – the "Radio Flyer". It's suitable for an older child or a teenager – sadly not a fully grown adult.

The scooter costs £65 from mid-century treasure trove nanadobbie – either from their London store or online here.

eBay watch: 1970s chrome and teak coat rack

70s_hanger

A relic from a bygone era, but this 1970s chrome and teak coat rack is still a very stylish object.

Made up of 13 hexagonal pieces of wood, finished with a teak laminate, it also has a top shelf and removable chrome hooks and a metal backing structure keeping everything in place. There's also four metal brackets to fix it to the wall.

According to the seller, it is in 'good condition' but with a chip in the teak laminate on one of the wood cutouts. There are also small chips on the wooden batons forming the top shelf, but overall, hardly noticeable. Especially when you factor in the current £12.54 price.

eBay watch: 1970s pulldown eyeball pendant light

Dropdown

Another superb vintage light on eBay – this time a 1970s pulldown eyeball pendant light.

No maker or designer is accredited, but it is presumed to be from the 1970s, as well as being a Danish design from the era. For your money, you get a 360 degree rotating shade and drop-fall cord, the shade made of chrome plated steel for serious, eye-catching appeal.

According to the seller, it's in 'excellent condition and full working order', with a 'buy it now' price of £195 being asked (although you can also make an offer). The table obviously isn't included.
