Newgate Marvel architectural clock

Marvel

This Marvel architectural clock is another retro design courtesy of Newgate.

It combines some of the design elements of a couple of other of their clocks that we've featured before. They've used those Peter Blake-esque numbers in their Carnaby wall clock previously, while those cut-out numbers – which you are able to place where you'd like, are similar to the idea in their postmaster architectural clock. Whatever the influences, combining the two produces an eye-catching piece of the time.

The clock is currently reduced in the sale to £38.25.

Classic Snoopy alarm clock

Snoopy

If cool and kitsch is more important to you than cutting-edge technology in the morning, you just might be the perfect customer for this Snoopy alarm clock.

Featuring the ever-popular Peanuts character (now over 50 years old would you believe) and his sidekick Woodstock having a snooze on the dog house, the clock is an old school bell-ringing clock, which has both a light and an alarm. Which is probably why it needs a battery rather than just being a wind-up clock.

Cheap enough, you can get one online for £13.50.

Red ceramic kitchen clock

Laura ashley clock

This red ceramic kitchen clock is another retro design courtesy of the high street.

With its asymmetric frame, and striking red finish, it's a design that looks towards the 1950s. Couple that with the minimal clock-face markings and it definitely appears as if it was designed quite a few years before 2011.

A high street price for it too: the clock costs £30.

Tu midcentury-style Dark Wood Flower Wall Clock at Sainsbury’s

Sains_clock

Better-known for grocery shopping, Sainsbury's has a home section too, with one or two interesting finds amongst it, including this Tu midcentury-style Dark Wood Flower Wall Clock.

There's a touch of the George Nelson about it, or at the very least, a 1950s or early '60s feel. If that's the look your after, this is great value. 35cm in diameter, it has that dark wood construction with contrasting hands, able to wall mount easily, as you probably guessed.

Powered by a single AA battery, you can grab one online for just £18.

Robot alarm clock from Habitat

Robot alarm clock

This robot alarm clock from Habitat is a great piece of fun retro design for your kids – or just yourself.

The robot stands at just over 11cm high and is made from plastic. As well as looking good, he's got the added bonus of a clock in his stomach – and an alarm to go with it. This blue hatted robot is our favourite but Habitat is also stocking a slightly crazed looking pink robot alarm clock too.

They're both currently reduced in price to £8.

eBay watch: Grand Star GS-969 space age flip clock radio

Grand1

Not just a stylish piece of early 1970s space age design, this Grand Star GS-969 flip clock radio also comes with its original packaging and instructions.

Apparently dating from 1974, it's described as a 'fully functioning' flip clock and alarm with AM/FM radio and the option to illuminate (should you need a time check in the night). All topped off with that deep orange outer, very reminiscent of the era. That's good enough. But also included is the original box, internal packaging, instructions and original earpiece. Impressive.

There are 'very minor blemishes', presumably through age, but apart from that, all is well and good. See that packaging over the page and if you fancy this, the bidding currently stands at just £1.

Update: The seller also seems to have one for sale in white too. Check that out here.
