eBay watch: 1960s Mauthe wall clock

Mauthe

I don't know the maker, but this 1960s Mauthe wall clock certainly oozes midcentury style.

The manufacturer is actually out of Germany, producing this square wooden wall clock with platic accents and brass hands, finished off with a modern quartz movement, battery power and the maker's name in brass just under the '12'.

It's sized around 13 x 13 inches and is described as being in 'very good' condition. Price? Right now it's at £5.50.

eBay watch: Original George Nelson Sunburst Clock by Howard Miller

Nelson

You can get reissued George Nelson clocks, but if you want the real deal, you can bid for this original George Nelson Sunburst Clock by Howard Miller.

Indeed, the reissued Nelson Sunburst clocks go for in excess of £200, so that's not exactly a cheap option. This one is signed (see close-up on the listing) and is down as working, with some wear and tear by way of the scuffs, scratches and wear to the brass. Again, see the listing for the full breakdown.

It's certainly an eye-catching piece though, amazing that something like this was in production around 50 years ago. £78.15 is the current price.

eBay watch: 1980s clock and flip calendar

Perspex

It doesn't seem to have a brand attached to it, but this 1980s clock and flip calendar is both appealing and very useful.

The clock face is apparently made of black plastic, doing hours, minutes and seconds, as well as offering an alarm function. The flip calendar is…well, a flip calendar, as you would expect, sat alongside the clock and clad in that perspex casing.

The alarm clock is apparently in good condition and in full working order, with 'a few faint age related marks and scratches' on the Perspex casing. It also runs on a single AA battery. Right now, the price is at 99p.

eBay watch: Toshiba 1970s space age RC-693F tower clock radio

Tosh

Yes, it's an old gadget, but this Toshiba RC-693F tower clock radio is a stylish one – and still practical too.

A great piece of 1970s space age design, the RC-693F gives you the time via those flip numbers, has am alarm to get you out of bed and has AM/FM radio reception. It even packs a sleep timer.

Condition is described as 'used but good', with normal signs of age, but it is fully-operational, which is every bit as important. Right now bidding is at just £2.

Sliced Grandfather Clock

5527464920002_Assort_l1
The Sliced Grandfather Clock from Urban Outfitters provides a suggestion of the style of the traditional grandfather clock, but taking up a fraction of the space – ideal for those of us whose homes have hallways that are less than majestic.

The clock consists of a cross-section of an old-fashioned grandfather clock face. Not only is it missing the grand casing, it isn’t even the whole clock face, but there is just enough of the numbers there for you to be able to tell what the time is. Which leaves more space on your walls for all the prints and artwork we’ve featured recently.

It costs £45 from Urban Outfitters.
