Crumpet and Skirt cushions

Ava cushion

Remember Crumpet and Skirt's charming 'tease maids', found at the bottom of one of their pin-up mugs? The company is taking that pin-up style out of the kitchen and into the kitchen/boudoir with their new cushions

The cushions come with a choice of four luscious designs to pick from. As well as Ava, pictured, there are cushions available featuring Kim, Maureen and Lana – all executed in the same retro style.

With beauties like this beckoning you, who wouldn't want to stop for a sit down? However, if you need a further enticement, each cushion comes with its own duck feather pad.

The cushions cost £37 each.

Vintage styled kitchenwares at H&M online

Hm table runner

Bargain hunters rejoice. H&M is now selling online and they're also doing homewares. Worth a look for cheap, unusual basics, you may like to check out their vintage-styled range.

Much in the style of products made by companies like Random Retail among many others, the range uses old-fashioned typography printed onto washed and faded linen to give them a vintage look. The H&M range includes an apron, tea towel, napkins and cushion covers, as well as the table runner pictured which looks like it has been made from an old seed sack.

The table runner costs £12.99 while prices start at £2.99 for the tea towel and napkins.

Pol & Mik “Legendary” Cushions

Janis

Pol & Mik have produced a pair of cushions they are calling “Legendary”.

There are two designs, both featuring a psychedelic swirling pattern. The predominantly white design is named “Janis”, presumably after Joplin, whilst the mainly blue design is called “John”, which I’m guessing might be after Lennon, but there could be other candidates. The cushions are available in a choice of sizes 40cm (19.99 Euros), 50cm (22.99 Euros) or 60cm (24.99 Euros).

The cushions are available to buy from the Pol & Mik store at Envelop.

Celia Birtwell homewares at John Lewis

Birtwell cushion

Celia Birtwell's fabulous designs have become instantly recognisable to a new generation thanks to her collaborations with companies like BootsMillets and of course Topshop. That looks set to continue with her new range for John Lewis

As well as women's clothing, this range also includes homeware. First off the blocks is this Candy floss cushion. It features a distinctively Birtwell pattern of bold flowers, recognisable from her work with Ossie Clark in the 1960s. On the back is a smaller floral design.

Complete with feather pad, the cushion costs £35.

Great British Biscuits Cushion by Martin Wiscombe

Biscuits-cushion-cush11bs-b
All of Martin Wiscombe’s designs have a nostalgic theme to them, but I was particularly taken with the Great British Biscuits Cushion.

The cushion features illustrations of an assortment of biscuits just like you would get in biscuit tins that were brought out by aging relatives on special occasions. There is a jammy dodger, a custard cream, a bourbon, a party ring and, of course, that pink wafer that you either love or hate.

The cushion measures 45cm square, is made from faux cushion and is available to buy from Rustic Angels, priced £34.95.
