1960s Flora Folio pendant light by Piet Hein

Flora

I think this is called statement lighting. Unfortunately, the Flora Folio Pendant Light by Piet Hein comes with a statement price tag too.

Designed back in 1969, the aluminium and glass Flora Folio is designed to look like a large flower, with those 'leaves' looking good to the eye and also offering 'a perfect reflection of light'. It's very big too, produced for a large room, with a size of 65cm in height and a diameter of 60cm. Owners of low ceilings can walk away now.

But if you have a big room and a big wallet to match, you can pick up the Flora Folio pendant light for £3,399.

S.N.S. Herning striped naval top

Herning

Not just another take on the classic Breton top – this is actually an archive design from the 1970s, going by the name of the S.N.S. Herning striped naval top.

A gem from the Danish company’s 1979 range – and still looking sharp in 2010. For your money, you get a striped crewneck pullover that’s knitted in virgin wool, with three metal buttons on the collar, and with a slim fit.

Each piece is also signed by the person responsible for knitting it. Which I suppose is your guarantee of quality. Price? Available online for £159.

Frandsen Ball 1960s wall lights

Ball

We featured the reissue of the pendant lights some time back, but now the Frandsen Ball is back as a wall light.

It's a simple and stylish Danish design that dates back to 1969, the wall version offering up that metallic dome in a chrome or a coloured finish, with a transparent cord that also includes the on/off switch.

There's an almost endless number of colour options if you shop around, all selling for around the £53 mark.

eBay watch: 1970s pulldown eyeball pendant light

Dropdown

Another superb vintage light on eBay – this time a 1970s pulldown eyeball pendant light.

No maker or designer is accredited, but it is presumed to be from the 1970s, as well as being a Danish design from the era. For your money, you get a 360 degree rotating shade and drop-fall cord, the shade made of chrome plated steel for serious, eye-catching appeal.

According to the seller, it's in 'excellent condition and full working order', with a 'buy it now' price of £195 being asked (although you can also make an offer). The table obviously isn't included.
