Jonathan Adler Neptune range

Neptune plate
There's a distinctive fishy and fifties flavour to the Jonathan Adler Neptune range

The range includes trays, plates and tumblers, all decorated with stylised fishes that have depicted in various stages of blue. Like all of Jonathan Adler's design, there's a definite retro feel to the design – in this case, it looks towards the 1950s. Just compare and contrast Marianne Nilsson's Herring Design (or even the fish in our recently featured Picknick design). This range offers an easy way to pick up a serving of style.

Prices start at £5 for the glasses, with this salad plate costing £6.

Ercol plank table from The Conran Shop

Plank table
We've highlighted The Conran Shop's Well Considered range before, intended to be a more affordable line of products. This 1950s designed plank table is now available as part of the range.

This table was actually designed back in 1956 by Lucian R. Ercolani and is still manufactured by Ercol. It's a very simple design with that plank-like elm top and splayed beech legs which fits six people. Available in three colours: take your pick from the natural look or a more striking black or red.

It's priced at – while not budget, a more affordable than your average Conran Shop item – £595.

Tropical leaf salad serveware from Heal’s

Saladleaf_m

Want to be a retro hostess with the mostest? You may want to consider investing in this Tropical leaf salad serveware from Heal's

A piece of kitsch, this green acrylic set comprises a large plate or a salad bowl and servers, both in the shape of a large tropical leaf. The shape is reminiscent of the ceramic Carlton ware leaf dish which was produced in the late 1940s into the 1950s but the use of the material creates something of a 70s feel.

Stock up now ahead of the summer – the plates are £4 each, while the salad bowl and servers cost £25.

Red Cornishware from T.G. Green

Cornish please
Cornishware is instantly recognisable with its blue and white stripes. In a twist on the look, T.G. Green have resurrected the 'lost' Cornishware Red range from the 1950s and are putting it back in our kitchens.

As part of their long history manufacturing Cornishware, T.G. Green experimented with creating red Cornishware in the 1950s but abandoned the range when they found it hard to keep the colour consistent, hence it being described as 'lost'. The rare samples that leaked out have since become expensive collector's items.

The good news for all enthusiasts of the look is that sixty years later, T.G. Green have cracked the colour and brought the range back into production. The cheerful and festive colour combination has been applied to all their traditional items and is now just a click away.

Prices start at £10 for a beaker.
