Fonteyn Dressing Table from Made
Made are creating some real design classics which are within the grasp of the ordinary person thanks to their clever pricing. This Fonteyn Dresing Table is their latest piece of covetable furniture.
This sleek but compact dressing table, inspired by a dancer's poise, has some strong retro influences too with it's spiky legs and rounded corners. It's made of matt-finish walnut and contrasting high-gloss red lacquer with a stylish round mirror to top things off. At only 90cms wide it will add some serious design chic to even the smallest of spaces.
The dressing table costs £349 here.
Fonteyn Dressing Table
Available to order from Made.com now is another retro-inspired design by Steuart Padwick, the Fonteyn Dressing Table.
Apparently the shape is inspired by a dancer’s poise (hence the name), but to us, those tapered legs and curves are midcentury design. The table has a matt walnut finish with the drawers in a contrasting red gloss. The finishing touch of a round mirror completes its vintage look. It costs £395 from Made, a bargain compared with the £1,295 high street price.

Hideaway Dressing Table
The Hideaway Dressing Table from Dwell looks like something you would find in a 1920s boudoir, but given a mid-century makeover.
It is a self-contained unit with a chair and mirror that tuck neatly away when not use – ideal for modern homes that are short on space. Whilst the idea itself looks older, the unit’s curved front and walnut exterior, give it a decidedly mid-century look.
The Hideaway Dressing Table can be yours for just under £600 from Dwell.
Deco-style dressing table from Alexander and Pearl
This dressing table from Alexander and Pearl isn't the first we've featured that takes inspiration from the Art Deco style and I'm sure it won't be the last. The period works really well for a piece of furniture that's meant to evoke glamour.
This piece certainly is glamorous, with its mirrored finish and curved shape. The mirror folds down flat, giving it a practical use as a table too when not required for make-up touch-ups. There are two concealed drawers too, perfect for stashing away beauty secrets.
The table costs £625 with the matching stool costing an additional £275.
