Dick Bruna vintage story book bunting

Bruna bunting

You can't have failed to notice the huge amount of bunting bedecking shops and stalls and is on sale just about everywhere at the moment. Here's some more, but with an interesting twist: it's bunting using vintage book illustrations by Dick Bruna

It's the work of Etsy seller leJeune who has taken the original illustrations from a 1966 copy of Bruna's The Sailor and made them into the bunting. His bold illustrations are used on one side with the story on the other. Take a look at her shop from more bunting from other children's books, the perfect thing for a kid's room.

This bunting costs $22.

Record player pillow cover by Caroline Dulko

Dulko record player

It's not too long ago that the imagery of an old record player was resurrected in Ella Doran's new collection of homewares. Now you can get a cushion that also fits into the theme too, courtesy of Caroline Dulko's record player pillow cover

London-based Dulko has used an aerial view of a vintage styled record player design which is printed onto a wool/viscose felt mix material. The retro feel is enhanced by the colours she's used: it's available in either a blue or a dusty terracotta red.

A nice look but not too cheap either. The pillow cases cost $89.99 each.

Roll and Tumble Press prints

Roll and tumble

What happens when a letterpress printer meets a tattoo artist? Take a look at the prints made by Roll and Tumble Press for your answer.

As you might expect, they combine the typographical sensibilities of the letterpress printer, with the artistic eye of the tattoo artist to create some interesting artworks. This Sweet Dreams print uses antique wood type, combined with stunning hand-mixed colours – in this case lavender, pale yellow, midnight blue and charcoal grey – for a great retro look.

And the prints are reasonably priced too, selling for $15 – $20.
