eBay watch: 1970s Fiat 124 Spider

Fiat1

The sun is out, the sky is blue and our minds drift to thoughts of a convertible. There's no denying that this Fiat 124 Spider is a tasty number.

It dates to 1979, but was imported to the UK in 1991, racking up 91,775 miles over that time, but only 1,800 by the current owner since 1995. Some modern additions (like a CD player), but most is original, with the body work described as 'near concourse condition' and although some work could do with being carried out, it sounds like it's good to go now.

Indeed, £2,000 of work has been carried out by the current owner, so it must be in some kind of decent shape. Another image over the page or check out the site for many more. £4,500 is the current price – or grab it on 'buy it now' for £5,000.

Fiat 500 by Gucci

Fiat1

Not content with doing a fashion variation with Diesel, Fiat has now gone high-end with an iconic fashion retailer, producing the Fiat 500 by Gucci.

It follows a similar path judging by the initial snaps. A choice of black and white, both with distinctive contrast stripes, along with matching seatbelts and internal colour scheme, not to mention plenty of Gucci logos and embossed leather seats. It's the fashionista's dream retro car.

Announced for the Milan Fashion Week, it will go public at the Geneva Motor Show on 3rd March. Launch date? Price? We don't know, but we would guess at 'fairly soon' and 'not cheap'. More images over the page.

eBay watch: 1970s Fiat X1/9 by Bertone sports car

Fiat

Looking for a head-turning retro sports car that doesn't cost a fortune? Right now, this 1970s Fiat X1/9 by Bertone sports car could fit the bill.

The car was produced by Fiat from 1972 – 1982, this one being a 1978 version with a 1300cc engine and removable hard top that looks, on first glance, like being a perfect example. But read the write-up and you'll see it's had some restoration, but needs more – a dent to the driver's door needs sorting for a start.

Saying that, it's it's described as a 'great driving' car and has just 48,000 miles on the clock, so if you're willing to do the work, it could be a winner. Right now, bidding is at £210.

eBay watch: 1962 Fiat 500 D in ‘show room condition’

Fiat1

Yes, the new Fiat 500 models are nice enough, but they haven't quite got the character of the originals, of which this 1962 Fiat 500 D is a prime example.

Details from the seller (technical aside) are scarce, but photos are plentiful, including the one above and the interior shot above, which show off a car claimed to be in 'show room condition'. It's also said to have just 9,000 miles on the clock, 12 months MOT and the soft top.

Like I said, the photos do it more justice than words, so see them all at the site. Right now bids are at £3,100, although that figure has yet to match the reserve.

eBay watch: 1970 Fiat 850 Sports Coupe S2

Fiat

Who would have thought that Fiat once produced cars as stylish as this Fiat 850 Sports Coupe S2?

Indeed they did, back in 1970, when this beauty first hit the road. Just three owners from new (two from same family) and currently tax exempt, the car is good to drive, but does require work, mainly bodywork and some other bits and pieces. The interior doesn't match up to the looks of the exterior either, so you might want to do some work there too.

Still, at least it's cheap, currently at £740 right now with no reserve. Which should leave you a few quid spare to bring it back to its former glory. See the listing for lots more photos.

eBay watch: Fully-restored 1970s Fiat 500L

Fiat500

Fiat did a decent job of remaking the Fiat 500, but nothing beats the original – like this fully-restored Fiat 500L which is available on eBay right now or a modest price.

Dating from 1970 and totally restored in 2006, this tax-exempt car is 'not a new car in showroom condition' and 'has the odd slight dent here', but also has undergone a lot of work, including having a brand new sunroof and professional decals, with a mileage of just over 27,000. Downside? Well, it's an imported left-hand drive – if that worries you, it's perhaps not the car for you.

Sold with all paperwork and invoices related to renovation, it's currently on eBay for a very affordable £1,550 – a small price for a very cool small car.
