eBay watch: 1970s Colani UFO ceiling light in orange
We did feature one of these back in 2010, but we've not seen a Colani UFO ceiling light in orange before.
it certainly looks impressive in that colour, along with the contrasting clear panels. Not bad condition either for something well over 30 years old. This 1970s space age classic in what's described as 'used but very good' condition – some minor wear, but nothing you would notice without a close inspection.
Check out loads of images on the listing and if you like it, the current price is £24.
eBay watch: 1970s space age Colani flying saucer ceiling lamp
A fantastic space age design – and this Colani flying saucer ceiling lamp is currently available for just £1.
It's a superb design, one of the more distinctive of the era and not a commonly-seen one either, especially in this condition and in this shade of brown.
According to the seller, that condition is described as 'good above-average' and 'near mint', aside from a 'very few fine and slight marginal scratches'. All of which makes the current £1 price tag something of a steal.
Flying Saucer bowl from Museum of Robots
You'd expect your alien spacecraft to look a touch more high-tech these days but this wooden bowl is shaped like a flying saucer from a 1950s B-movie. Ideal for storing some of your five-a-day, the bowl is presumably a gift from a friendly and useful species. Open it up and its lid can be used as a second bowl, resting on a surface by using its alien antennae.
You can buy the bowl with a stainless steel base (as pictured) for $250 or with a natural wood base for $150.
