Good cause, great design and an opportunity for a nice cup of tea – what's not to like about the Elle Deco Sanna Annukka mug produced to raise money for Shelter? 

One of several artists asked by Elle Deco to contribute to this project to raise money for the charity, Sanna Annukka's folk-inspired designs are no stranger to this site and this limited edition mug reflects her style. Apparently she looked to summer flowers for her inspiration and it has translated into a bold decorative design, with the red and black looking striking against the white of the Churchill mug, as well as reflecting the colours of the Shelter logo. 

The other mugs in the set have a more contemporary feel with designs by Stephen Jones and Richard Woods. 

The mugs cost £7 each with 50% of the selling price going to Shelter.

Seventies folk style is a retro style less often tapped into by the high street, but the hangover from the hippy era had some fantastic fashion waiting to act as inspiration. This Fairisle Tunic from Monsoon is a great place to start.

Remember the Pet Sounds wallpaper we featured a little while back? Well, if you liked that pattern but weren't quite brave enough to cover your walls with it, thankfully Mini Moderns have reproduced the same design on the Pet Sounds tea towel. 

It's the same folky, weird wonderfulness, just on a much smaller scale, meaning you can now dry your designs, inspired by the apparent musical talents of the animal kingdom.

The new Autumn ranges are beginning to trickle into the shops. You can already get a preview of the new Habitat collection online. They've clearly been looking to the past for inspiration for aspects of the collection, which includes this Peacock table runner. 

The table runner is pure 70s style, featuring a folk-style repeated image of the peacock down the length of the runner. And it's quite a length too, measuring 270cm long. The fabric is a linen and cotton mix, adding to the natural feel of the design. For a perfectly dressed table, they're also selling accompanying peacock napkins.

Maxi dresses are that one item you just can't avoid on the Great British high street this summer, with designs featuring influence from a wide range of fashion styles. There's a handful of very vintage inspired items hidden among the rest, like this Evelyn Maxi Dress from Missguided.

Mini Moderns' have pulled out many quirky wallpaper designs in the past and this Pet Sounds wallpaper is no different. 

Taken from their Folk Rock collection, the design interprets the phrase 'pet sounds' literally featuring lots of folk-styled instruments and animals. It's available in heather or a powder blue colours as well as the orange shade pictured and, in every colour, is certain to make a unique statement in your home.
