1940’s Writing Bureau from Out of the Dark
In need of somewhere to file your household paperwork? Forget filing cabinets and invest in this upcycled 1940's Writing Bureau from Out of the Dark.
Out of the Dark is a social enterprise project which works with disadvantaged young people to revitalise donated second-hand furniture, giving them the opportunity to learn both practical and project management skills.
The writing bureau has been given a new lease of life with a coat of black paint and contrasting handles on the drawers. It measures 75cm (l) x 43cm (w) x 106cm (h) so would fit a narrow alcove.
The bureau costs £400 and is available from bouf.com here.
Sandra Dress by Pinup Couture
When it comes to the fashions of the 1940s and 50s, a truly striking silhouette is always key to making a lasting impression. Reproduction brand Pinup Couture rarely put a foot wrong, and their new Sandra Dress is no exception, with a knockout fifties shape.
The circle skirt is spared no expense, with plenty of fabric to create that expensive and genuine look of fifties originals. The plunging v at the neckline, combined with cute capped sleeves is effortlessly retro, without falling for the clichés. Finished with faux frog clips at the front, the contrasting black on green has a truly timeless elegance.
It's now available from Pinup Girl Clothing for $124.
