Looking for a project as winter approaches? This 1972 Citroen DS could be it.
Not as sharp as the 1969 version we featured a while back, but this isn't in the same condition. Not that we're writing it off – the car still has a lot going for it – and is ready to go if you want it for the daily commute.
eBay watch: 1958 Renault Dauphine car in original condition
At first glance, you might think this is one of the retro Nissan reissues like the Figaro or the Pao, but this is far older and out of France – the Renault Dauphine.
It dates back to 1958 and literally screams the era, not least because it looks largely unchanged since first hitting the road. It might well have been thrown back in time. Its amazing looks are perhaps down to it being dry stored in France for the last 30 years. Not just about the looks either, with the floor and chassis in 'excellent condition' and the 947c engine in 'perfect mechanical order'. Apparently 'everything works', according to the seller.
Things to note are it being left-hand drive, a tear being present on the driver's seat and a need for a 'very light respray' due to some blemishes on the bodywork. Not bad for 53 years. Just 'wow'. This is the car of my dreams – and this 1969 Citroen DS is on eBay right now.
It's a stunning version of a stunning car, with this late '60s DS in 'Midnight Blue' apparently only clocking 48,000km from new, which is approximately 31,000 miles). I think you can work out that it's well under 1,000 miles per year, which might account for the original 'Black Pallas' leather interior still being very much intact.
Also worth noting is that the hydraulic system has just been refurbished, which is always a concern on a used one of these. It's left-hand drive though, which might put a few people off. Described as 'immaculate', you can see why from the many images on the site. The price for this classic is £10,999.
eBay watch: 1968 Citroen DS ID19 car
As far back as 2007 we were showing our love for the Citroen DS in this site. These stunning motors get rarer by the year, but they do occasionally crop up on eBay – as is the case with this 1968 Citroen DS ID19 car.
The ID series was a more simplified version of the DS, lacking the power steering and some of the hydraulic controls of the original, but still sharing that stunning and iconic exterior.

Our search for a super-cool property has taken us to the outer suburbs of Paris, specifically to this 1960s modernist house in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, near Paris.
No mention of the architect, but we suspect this was cutting edge design for someone affluent and forward-thinking back in 1969. Indeed, fast forward 42 years and it's still cutting edge. A testament to someone's vision 'back in the day'.
