I now it's not a rare design, but the G-Plan Astro coffee table is quite a sought after item at the right price – and this example is definitely at the right price.

The Fifty Three Armchair by G Plan Vintage
We saw the Fifty Five a while back, but now G Plan Vintage has gone even further back into the decade for inspiration, producing the Fifty Three Armchair.
eBay watch: 1960s G Plan teak storage unit
The company has been in the news recently with its Hemingway Design collaborations for John Lewis, but the older G Plan pieces are still in plentiful supply on eBay. This 1960s G Plan storage unit is one such example.

eBay watch: 1960s G-Plan Astro circular coffee table
We have featured one of these in the past, but as this G-Plan Astro coffee table is going cheap right now, it is well worth flagging up once more.
It's one of the classics from the G-Plan golden age, a coffee table made in the midcentury style back in the 1960s, with this curved wood frame made of teak, topped off with a safety glass surface.
British-made (and to a high standard), this Astro coffee table is currently at a bargain £1.24.
eBay watch: 1960s G-Plan Astro coffee table
When it comes to affordable midcentury design, you can't go far wrong with the better end of the G-Plan range. If you dig around, you can find a number of interesting (and always well made) pieces, both at eBay and in secondhand places. This G-Plan Astro coffee table is one of the more common, but also one of the better value designs.
It's a coffee table, first seen in the 1960s and made of teak, that curved wood frame offering some midcentury-style cool, the whole thing finished off by a central piece of glass. It looked good then and it arguably still looks good now.
This one looks in excellent condition, having 'recently been waxed and oiled', with no mention of any kind of damage anywhere. It's no a 'buy it now' for £95. If you miss out or think that's a bit costly, keep looking, they do come up regularly.
