1950s Herbert Hirche trolley remade by Richard Lampert in limited numbers

Hirche

We featured a reissue of his lounge chair last week, but now the Herbert Hirche trolley has also been remade by Richard Lampert, but only in limited numbers.

Just 100 of this 1956 design have been remade, to celebrate what would have been Herbert Hirche's 100th birthday. It's a stylish thing too, dating back to 1956, but more reminiscent of the designer's Bauhaus school roots, with a structure in black powder-coated steel and a top in 4mm structured safety glass.

Get one while you can, it can only be a good investment at £630.

1950s H57 lounge chair by Herbert Hirche reissued

H57

A student of the Bauhaus school, Herbert Hirche was a mainstay of German design, particularly between the 50s and 70s, which was also the period when the H57 lounge chair was created.

Specifically, it hit the market in 1957, with the chair initially created for the Interbau Berlin fair in 1956. Mixing influences of his past and of the era it was designed in, the minimalistic chair has a wonderfully curved fibreglass shell that's padded for comfort, with those skinny angled legs made of steel.

This Richard Lampert reissue is available with fabric, suede or leather finishes (the latter with chrome legs), prices starting at £1,687.
