Alessi Memories of the Future vintage tea and coffee pots

Al1

Alessi is reissuing classic designs from the 1920s, 30s and 40s under the name Memories of the Future, including the coffee pot picture above and the tea pot below.

Both are authentic (and timeless) re-creations, with these deco-style pots designed originally by Carlo Alessi and crafted in polished stainless steel, with detailing in 'of its era' bakelite.

The pots above sells for £76. If you want more of the same, check out the site for items like a creamer, sugar bowl, trays, coasters, a fruit bowl, a sugar castor, ice buckets, stroage jars and some really stylish vintage cocktial shakers.

Light Traffic Only mugs

Light traffic only

The black and white typography of these Light Traffic Only mugs makes for a great graphic look. Peer a bit closer and you'll realise the mugs are covered with the names of villages in North Essex and surrounding area and the design is in fact inspired by old white village signposts which are gradually disappearing from the countryside.

The product is the combined work of illustrator Michelle Thompson and graphic designer Gareth Wild. This unusual design is also available on tea towels.

These mugs cost £7.

Dupenny 50s Housewives homeware range

Dupenny1

Last year we featured the wallpaper version of the design, now Dupenny has introduced some homeware featuring its 50s Housewives designs.

The first designs in the range are tea towels (above) and cushions (pictured over the page), all with a vintage 50s twist, not to mention a slightly saucy undertone.

The tea towels are a mix of cotton and linen, while the cushions have a silk outer and a duck feather and cotton inner, with prices at £12 and £55 respectively. See all the designs at the Dupenny site.

Zandra Rhodes homeware range for M&S

Zandra

Zandra Rhodes remains one of Britain's most recognisable figures, as well known for her appearance as for her colourful textile designs. Her homeware range for M&S is a slight surprise in that its black and white colour scheme makes it looks quite restrained. However, the design reflects Zandra's ongoing interest in all things organic and the lively floral design looks a lot wilder (and also more interesting) than many other naturally inspired homeware designs on offer on the high street.

The range costs from £6, with this teapot costing £25.

Ben de Lisi’s 1950s-influenced homeware range for Debenhams

Ben de Lisi mug

Following on from the Jamie Oliver doormat earlier in the week, here's another range of slightly unexpected products: dress designer's Ben de Lisi's homeware range for Debenhams. The whole range is apparently influenced by his love of the 1950s modern movement, resulted in products like the mug pictured above, the 'Blocks mug'. He's also used the same bright colours and pattern on canvas prints.

There's more tableware available too. Shard is another mug, this time decorated with grey and red slants of colour, while the Chatter collection is a white crockery range, each item trimmed or covered with a colourful brick-like pattern.

The whole range is definitely worth a browse, with prices starting at £5 for the mug.
