London, Paris, New York prints by Bianca Gomez

Bianca gomez

A great take on three of the world's great cities, courtesy of Bianca Gomez and her prints of London, Paris and New York

Each print depicts a different city in the style of a classic travel poster. While the simple elements are the same in each image – a man in the city, the name of the place running across the print – she manages to inject a bit of personality into each scene. The New York print, for example, looks like its come straight off the cover of a vintage New Yorker magazine, while the London print cleverly uses the font traditionally used for the capital's transport system. The Paris print is suitably full of Gallic charm.

Each print is A4 sized and you can buy them individually for $30 each, or $75 for a set of three. Alternatively you can get larger individual prints for $60 each.

London Skyline print by Kate McLelland

London SkylineLondon's landmarks have provided inspiration to artists over hundreds of years. Kate McLelland's London Skyline print offers another take on the capital.

This striking design was recently awarded second placed in the London Transport design competition and the Edinburgh based illustrator has drawn on folk styles for her depiction, adding a fairytale quality to landmarks like the BT Tower and the Gherkin, as well as to traditional London sights like red phone boxes and double decker buses. The print is depicted in the patriotic colours of red, white and blue.

The print is limited to 41 copies and costs $50.

Lifestyle Illustration of the 50s by Rian Hughes

Lifestyle illustration of the 50s
You may remember the bumper book Lifestyle Illustration of the 60s we featured a little while back. It's sister volume has now been released, which goes a little bit further back in time – yes, it's Lifestyle Illustration of the 50s.

Also written by Rian Hughes, it features over a 1000 images spread over its 576 pages and shows some of the social aspirations of the post-war era, presumably as seen through the eyes of some of the Mad Men of the time. Some of those dreams, not to mention the technological innovations of the period, of course now seem quaint to modern eyes, all adding to the book's charm. As well as being an author, Hughes is also a graphic designer and illustrator so is well placed to make the selection of images.

The book is currently available for £18.71 on Amazon.

Festival of Britain print by Lizzie Allen

Festival of Britain

Wallpaper designer Lizzie Allen has been commissioned to produce this Festival of Britain print which ties in with the Royal Festival Hall's 60th anniversary next year.

Allen's work frequently draws inspiration from 1950s illustrations, such as with her City Gents wallpaper and this design – and subject matter – reflects that interest. The reduced colour palette of yellow, red and grey creates a period feel and draws attention to the gleaming new Festival Hall in the background. There's also an atmosphere of fun – from the aeroplane in the sky, to the brass band, to the 60th birthday balloon.

The print is on a large scale, at 70 x 100cm and is limited to a run of 60 copies. Each print costs £250.

You may or may not know that it's 60 years since Charles M. Schulz brought Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts characters into the world. So to celebrate, Dover Street Market has teamed up with a host of brands to produce a Peanuts 60th anniversary range.

From 27th September, the store will have a Peanuts-themed window and a range of goodies from the likes of Lacoste, Loopwheeler, Original Fake, Converse, Hysteric Glamour, Longchamp, Medicom Be@rbrick and Mulberry.

You can see some above, but check out the Peanuts Be@rbrick characters over the page, along with the Converse and the watch. Prices? No details of those as yet, check the DSM website on launch date. But we suspect the Longchamp Snoopy bag isn't going to come cheap.
