Bauhaus-inspired Scott chair at John Lewis

Scott1

A very interesting design from John Lewis, with the Scott chair looking like a modernist reissue, but actually being a new design.

Inspired by the Bauhaus school of design, it's a stylish mix of metal and leather, that uncomplicated polished stainless steel frame supporting the leather recliner and cushioning, which is perfect for relaxing into after a busy day (or during a less-than-busy weekend).

See over the page for a front-facing shot and if you like what you see, the Scott chair sells for £999.

Barbican stool from John Lewis

Barbican stool

You've got your Barbican sofa. Complete the look with the accompanying Barbican stool from John Lewis.

It shares the same mid-century influence as the sofa, down to its wooden splayed legs. Although there is a leather version available, pictured is the model with a pea green fabric base. The brightly pattern 1960s-esque cushion comes courtesy of Andrew Martin. Put this next to your sofa and you'll be sitting pretty.

The stool costs £499.

Sanderson’s 1960s Concord wallpaper

Sanderson Concord

We've already mentioned, quite a few times, how 2010 is the 150th anniversary of Sanderson. If you missed the exhibition, weren't too enraptured by their cushion designs, how about this 1960s Concord wallpaper, reissued as part of their 'vintage' collection?

Unlike the floral patters often associated with the firm, its converging lines makes it more of an Op-Art design, typical of the 1966 date when it was designed. The version pictured is in red and gold but it also comes in lime and silver or plum and teal.

The paper costs £32 a roll.
