eBay watch: 1970s extra large Guzzini-style pendant lights

Guz

Yes, I know we did something similar yesterday and we do try to vary things when possible, but I've just spotted these 1970s extra large Guzzini-style pendant lights online, which are absolutely stunning.

According to the seller, this orange and white light fitting doesn't have a maker's label, but it does have that Guzzini 'look', as well as being a light fitting that screams the late '60s and 1970s. How big? 36cm wide and 30cm high, with 66cm of new wiring offered with it – yes, it's been rewired and is ready to be fitted.

Condition is 'very good / excellent' with 'just a few light marks' down to age. Not the cheapest light fitting at £149.99 on a 'buy it now', but ust try finding something on the high street with similar impact for a cheaper price.

Factory desk lamp from Idyll Home

Factory desk lamp

If you're after an industrial style lamp, you're in luck as there are lots on offer at the moment. The latest example to come to our attention is this Factory desk lamp, available from Idyll Home.

The colour on this image is a bit misleading – it's actually white enamel used for the curved shade and base. Couple that up with an an adjustable chrome arm and you've got a lamp that's extra practical, as well as stylish.

This lamp costs £189.

eBay watch: 1970s Guzzini-style Herda table lamp

Herda

At first glance, you might think this is something from the Guzzini range of the 1970s. But it's actually the Herda table lamp.

Certain to be a European variation from a lesser-known brand, it's still an interesting piece and worth picking up for the right price. For your money, you'll get that period double-layered plastic brown shade (glowing yellow when lit), sat on a chromed metal base, which leaves the cord exposed to the bulb.

It stands 55cm tall and is described as being in 'excellent condition'. Right now, it's on eBay for just 1 pence.

1960s-style Large Bow Lamp at Made.com

Bow

You'll be paying the best part of £1,500 for an authentic Flos reissue of the Arco floor lamp, so this variation on the theme, going by the name of the Large Bow Lamp, is quite an attractive proposition.

Of course, this isn't a replica of the 1962 Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni classic, but it does offer the look for a fraction of the price. In this case, you get that same hanging lamp, sat on a marble base, the lamp itself made of stainless steel and chrome. It is able to adjust in reach, but stands around 198cm tall and 172cm wide in total.

Great for reading or just for dramatic effect in a room. Usually, this particular version sells for £199, but if you order off Made in the next five days, you can get one for just £99.

eBay watch: Dijkstra 1970s floor / table lamp

Djik

A great piece of 1970s design for not a lot of cash so far on eBay – this Dijkstra floor / table lamp.

Very much in that 'Guzzini' style, it's not quite a full-sized floor lamp at 114cm tall, but is probably something of an oversized table lamp too. Should work as either though. The lamp has a double-layered shade which gives off an orange glow when illuminated, with the height of the shade able to adjust on the chromed stem.

The lamp uses two bulbs and is said to be in 'very good condition', with no obvious damage, such as cracks or wear. Right now, it's at just 1 pence.
