Floral Meadow Print Mini Suitcase from Liberty

Liberty bag
You may remember last summer we featured the Liberty collaboration with Parisian concept store Merci, which included a rather fancy Liberty print mini suitcase that got our tongues lolling. The good news is this pretty little case is now back on sale in Liberty in the UK, and just in time for the summer holidays.

The super-chic vintage style mini suitcase is covered in Liberty’s floral meadow print with silver-toned accents and wooden side panels. The perfect size to stuff with a few tea dresses for a summer weekend getaway.

The floral meadow print mini suitcase is £60 from Liberty’s website.

Brian Wildsmith Liberty Art Fabric

  LIBERTY

Liberty’s new season fabric collection features this rather lovely collaboration between the Liberty Design Studio and award-winning children’s illustrator Brian Wildsmith.

The collaboration draws on Liberty’s heritage, revisiting a relationship between shop and artist which dates back to the 1950’s. The design features pastel biplanes and jets and combines an original illustration from Wildsmith’s ‘The Amazing World of Words’, with Liberty menswear prints.

The fabric is 100% cotton and would lend itself to all sorts of creative projects.
It’s available both in-store and online and is priced at £19.95 per metre.

Black Cabs cushion by Lizzie Allen

Lizzie allen cushion
We’ve written about Lizzie Allen‘s beautiful wallpapers many times before. For a more affordable way to buy a piece of her style, you may be interested in this Black Cabs cushion.

Like her wallpaper, the cushion textile is decorated with a 1950s-style illustration of a traditional British scene. In this case we are taken to the streets of a rainy London and, as well as the black cab of the title, there’s a red number 8 Routemaster going by.

Made from 100% cotton, though it’s more affordable than her wallpaper it’s still not cheap at £79.

Liberty print stools

Liberty stool

This Liberty print stool is an interesting take on a classic design.

It’s got the shape of a classic early twentieth century stool, with wooden seat and metal legs. However, the primary attraction lies in the Liberty pattern which is printed onto the seat. There’s four designs to pick from all in a classic Liberty style. Pictured is the Caesar pattern, an idiosyncratic peacock feather pattern.

Each stool costs £80.

Katakana midcentury-style writing desk by Dare Studio

Desk
It looks like a piece out of the 1950s, but this Katakana midcentury-style writing desk by Dare Studio has one eye on the present.

The Katakana desk has apparently been designed for use with a laptop, so just enough room for your average notebook, with special compartments for a power supply and clever cable management for unsightly wires. Or if you fancy writing a letter, there are tapered drawers which keep your pens always at the front of the drawer.

Made from black walnut, it’s available from Liberty, but not cheap at £3,295.
