Combining a retro shape with classic transport-style typography, it's no wonder this Routefinder armchair from John Lewis caught our eye.

50s-style Sidde armchair from Heal’s
This Sidde armchair is another treat from Heal's new Scandinavian season.
Like the other designs in the collection, this design looks to the 1950s for its influence, evident in its sloping shape and taped wooden legs. Even the colourways – pick from lavender or jade – are mid-century inspired. The chair has been designed by John Jenkins, the man behind the Archiv Storage unit we featured a few weeks back. There's also a (non-sloping) footstool available to match.
The chair £1150, while the footstool will set you back an additional £595.

Clare Nicolson new cushion collection
Clare Nicolson has frequently popped up on this site, for her vintage-inspired fabrics. It's been a while since we featured anything of her work, so it's a pleasure to see her new cushion collection.
The new designs move away a bit from her usual floral patterns. However, there's still a definite retro feel to her designs just, like the rectangle cushion pictured above, they focus on geometric designs instead. If you liked her other work, fear not – the new collection still includes one of her trademark bird designs, while each of the cushions still is finished with a vintage fabric reverse.
The cushions cost £50 each.

Fielding sofa from Made.com
This Fielding sofa from Made.com looks like its been influenced by Florence Knoll's classic 1954 sofa.
The Knoll sofa has inspired many high street interpretations (take a look at this Ikea number or this one from Love Your Home For Less) and no wonder when the design still looks so sleek and contemporary. This three-seater sofa has the straight lines and buttoned back that hark back to the 50s original.
The price of this one stands up pretty well to its competitors: the sofa costs £999 for leather finish, or £599 for the grey herringbone upholstery pictured.
