eBay watch: 1950s Morris Minor Convertible Splitscreen
Seeing as the sun is out, we've tried to find something suitable for our eBay treasure today – and we think this 1950s Morris Minor Convertible Splitscreen fits the bill perfectly.
It's a gem of a motor, built in 1954 as a convertible (not a later custom job) and still going strong, perhaps thanks to the amount of money paid out by the current owner. Since he/she bought it in 202, they've spent £8,000 on doing the car up, including chassis restoration, a new hood and Newton Commercial half-hide front seats and general maintenance.
It's got an unleaded 948cc engine and an 'old English white' colour scheme, with the only fault being a 'hairline crack in the windscreen'. But replacement glass is included in the sale. Fancy it? Bidding is at £2,500. A shot of the interior over the page.
eBay watch: 1950s Morris Minor Royal Mail van
Always fancied yourself as Postman Pat? Well, now you can get the van, specifically a Morris Minor Royal Mail van from the 1950s.
It actually dates from 1956, completely rebuilt and restored, even with a new engine to improve performance over the original. It even comes with all its history, right from the days it was doing the rounds through all the owners up to the current one.
See the full write-up for exactly what you get, but suffice to say, no detail has been overlooked in the renovation. Right now, the price is £870 – you should get that back in movie and TV rental fees.
