Umbra Condolisa Side Table – in the shape of a modernist house

Mod_house

One of our more popular recent posts was the Umbra Fishcondo, which was a fish bowl shaped like a modernist house. Well, not only is there a version for your goldfish, but there's a similar design for you to enjoy now, with the Umbra Condolisa Side Table.

As you might have guessed, it's by the same design team of Luong & Cheng, this time offering up a larger version of the modernist-inspired dwelling, as well as a version that has frosted acrylic cut-out windows within the high gloss wooden structure, plus some shelves for your bits and pieces. It also has a removable lid for last-minute hiding of your living room rubbish at short notice.

A new design for 2011 and standing around 48cm tall, it sells for £216.

For sale: Peter Moiret-designed terrace house in The Hamlet, Champion Hill, London SE5

Ham1

Not the most instantly eye-catching house we've ever featured, but this Peter Moiret-designed terrace house in The Hamlet, Champion Hill, London SE5 is certainly architecturally significant and ripe for a renovation.

A mid-terrace house, it's located on what is described as 'one of London's most desirable modernist developments' – a collection of 32 dwellings designed by Peter Moiret that all overlook a communal green, as well as being located on a peaceful hilltop site surrounded by trees, but still within easy reach of central London.

Serralunga Barceloneta Chair – classic Barcelona Chair gets an update

Barc1

Yes, at first glance it does indeed look like the classic Barcelona Chair by Mies van der Rohe. But it's actually a new design, the Serralunga Barceloneta Chair.

Think of it as a Barcelona for the modern era, with designer Raffaella Mangiarotti using a mix of polyurethane and aluminium to produce a chair both indoor or outdoor use, slimming down the design so it's abel to stack up too – see over the page for an idea of how that works. He even keeps that 'quilted' leather look for the seating by using a sophisticated 'rotating moulding system' that's apparently no easy thing to do.

Plenty of colours available, all priced around £654.
