Fairground mugs from Snowden Flood

Stop mug
Snowden Flood has been featured quite a few times on this site before: for her work featuring famous London landmarks and her take on design classics. A slightly different type of style is evident in her new range but still one that's pleasingly retro – as demonstrated with these fairground mugs.

The mugs feature illustrations influenced by traditional British folk art – indeed as the name suggests they are influenced by old-fashioned funfair signage. Each mug is decorated in a different colour with a different fairground ride style slogan.

The bone china mugs also draw on another British tradition in their manufacture as they are made in Stoke-On-Trent.

You can buy the mugs individually for £18.50 or as a set of four for £70.

Heritage London bus mug

Heritage bus

Looking for a reasonably priced gift for a secret Santa or a stocking filler? You could do worse than looking at the Heritage London range which includes this bus mug.

The mug features an illustration by Fiona Howard and has the same retro feel as her other work. It features a simplified outline of a red London bus, contrasting nicely to the cream of the mug. There's also a black taxi available in the same range.

Made from earthenware and completely microwave and dishwasher safe, the mug costs just £6.

Pretty City Mug and Coaster

London_bus_mug_2_310
The Pretty City Mug and Coaster are typical of Pretty City’s products, which feature nostalgic images of London.

The mug is decorated with multiple images of a black London cab, plus one illustration of a traditional red London bus for contrast. The mug is sold with its own coaster, a handy addition in itself, but the coaster can also double as lid for the mug to help keep the heat in your drink for longer.

The set costs £8.99 and will available to order from Cloth Ears soon, although you can view the details there now.
